The GOLDEN TULIP Dar es Salaam is situated in the serene and green area of Msasani peninsula, just 4 kilometres from the city centre of Dar es Salaam. The seaside location of the hotel gives you a fantastic view of the Indian Ocean. The architecture is inspired by the Arabic influences of the Swahili Coast and provides a luxurious and comfortable atmosphere. The entrance hall is spectacular with its stately pillars, rotunda and grand dome. Hotel will charge a 4pct extra for CC paymemts.

Once grand, this hotel is now rundown

Great staff and a beautiful location, but the hotel is very rundown. All carpets, bedding, etc look very warn and 10 years old. A nice place, but not up to western/golden tulip standards. (also the Internet did not work)

Time for some upkeep

This hotel was probably quite nice when it first opened. It is located north of the city on the Indian Ocean with a nice pool at oceanside. The lobby looks quite nice when you first enter. However, what you realize once you are in is that everything is quite rundown. The furniture in the lobby is getting old and dirty. The carpets are filthy throughout the hotel. The hallways are musty smelling. The towels in the rooms are tattered. The prices here are not cheap and so some of that money should be going into maintaining the hotel. The staff were very friendly though and the food was also fine. I won't being staying here again.

The Sea Cliff shopping mall is down the road with restaurants, a supermarket, english bookstore and other shops as well as a nicer hotel.
