Dining

Imperial House
The Imperial House is a restaurant featuring Chou-Tzo and Cantonese cuisine. There are windows displaying the fresh seafood caught from Taiwanese waters. Our chef themselves pick the freshest local ingredients from the markets to perfectly present the purest delicacy and nutrition of the food.Serenity is the design concept of the Imperial House, and the decoration highlights oriental style. Both eastern and western aesthetic merits are adopted, so the atmosphere is eastern yet modern. Curvy gold foil is an integral part of the ceiling and Chinese poetry is the inspiration of the names of four independent booths. We had the honor of inviting Chung-kao Tu, a renowned Taiwanese master calligrapher, to write the names of each booth. The booths are divided by movable partition walls, and this allows our honorable guests to have their own independent space and caters to different occasions. In addition, an outdoor bar on the balcony has lit up the space.
Front Page Bar
English style bar. Many LCD TV and large screens are set in the bar with sports programs on, ready for you to get excited with your team! All types of liquors, wine and soft drinks are offered. Our Thai cuisine has been highly recommended by quite a few regular customers and recognized by food critics. It is no doubt the best choice for you and your friends to get relaxation and happiness! * Please do not drink if you are a minor.Don't drink and drive.
Sonoma Grill
The best Western-style dining, no other place is better than Sonoma Grill (1F). Savory USDA Prime Cut steak grilled to perfection at 2400 degrees; huge 22 oz portion - the best you can find in the city. Enjoy it with a glass of red wine for the distinctive gourmet style dining experience.
Le jeu du pain
Le jeu du pain is famous for its healthy and freshly bakery everyday! Perfect as gifts or to enjoy by yourself, the shop has a variety of choices to satisfy your delicate taste.

Good value for the money

Front desk staff spoke enough English to address our concerns and questions. Staff was friendly and helpful. The tours available through the hotel were quite good. I would recommend the Imperial without reservation. A very nice holiday stay.

Great place to stay

I stayed in the hotel for 7 days, overall experience was pretty good. Pros: The location of the hotel is great. Close to light rail, several convenient stores, night market, restaurants etc. The hotel room is clean and comfortable. The gym is small yet neat, the staff at the gym was pretty helpful. On the weekened they have people playing flute in the lobby. Cons: The biggest complaint I have is that they don't have wireless in the hotel rooms. If you want internet access in the room, you will need to pay to use the ethernet cable in your room. They do have free wireless at the lobby though. 3G network in this hotel is pretty fast, I used 3G to watch online videos without a problem. No laundry room.

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

Try any of the drink stands nearby the hotel. If you like drinking tea, you will be amazed by the variety of drinks they have.

Imperial- Imperative you stay there

I stayed at the Imperial Hotel for 3 nights while I explored Taipei. A clean room and helpful staff are an expectation when staying in a hotel, but sadly it's not always the case. However I can say that the Imperial exceeded expectations. English speaking capabilities were excellent, which made life easier for me. I ate at the restaurant each night and the manager seemed geniunely excited to see me. On my last night he gave me free dessert. I'm not saying that you should expect free dessert, but that's the kindness and hospitality that made staying at the Imperial a positive experience.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

Ring the hotel when you arrive at the airport and ask them if they can arrange a ride for you. Do not go to the hotel information desk at Taoyuan Airport, they are not affiliated with the Imperial. They made me pay twice for each trip, depsite showing them the receipt.

Nice comfortable hotel

Good hotel near downtown. My only problem was with the limited vegetarian menu item in restaurants or room service.
