Very Stingy Establishment

The hotel checks the room before you can leave the counter during check out while the only valuable thing in the room is a 20 inch tube TV made in 1990s. You need to sign off a free breakfast in the lobby. No WiFi in room. Staff are friendly but owner/management mentality is a problem. Only stay in this hotel as your last resort.

Great Location

Hotel is clean (though not the best view), located near some very good food around the corner, only about 20 min walk from MRT train station. Breakfast has a pretty good selection - eggs, vegetables, starch (fries), deli meats, porridge, toast, tea, coffee. Wi-Fi sometimes is too weak to reach your room, so you might have to go to lobby to get reception.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

There is a great noodle shop around the corner - go out of hotel, walk right, turn right at corner, keep going 1 block past 7-Eleven. It will be on your right with the sign "TBA" in front of shop. My friends were able to speak Chinese so if you don't ordering might be challenging.

Great Location, Not Much Else

This hotel was walking distance from the Museum of Fine Arts and the subway. It is really convenient for other sightseeing, too. Besides that, it was not that great. The building is tired and you can hear people in the hall from your room. The TV reception is snowy and they do not get many channels. There is no WiFi in the rooms, only the lobby. The breakfast is average. Do not have them do your laundry, because it is really expensive and they did not bill me until after they had done it. The staff do speak good English, and they were helpful with questions I had about stuff to do in Taipei. That is normal for Taiwan, though. Note that the hotel is on DaHui Street according to street signs, a different spelling than the business card (normal in Taiwan).

Good location & Clean Room

The hotel is located in a very nice area, specially it was very close to where I had to go for the conference I was attending. The closest metro station needs quite a bit of walk to get to but with cheap taxi for me it was easy to go around the city. The room itself was very clean but there was a bit of moist smell and also the view was right to a wall half a meter away from the window, so it was a very depressing view. On the positive side it had a nice breakfast and friendly staff. Overall it was ok for the price.

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

There is a night market right behind the hotel. Interesting cheap food.
