Great place to stay

The staff is very friendly and greets you warmly the minute you arrive at the front door. There is a department store attached via a door from the lobby. They have a food court downstairs - including McDonalds, and a small grocery store with beer, wine and alcolol and ice if you want. Not to mention the snacks. On the 4th or 5th floor there are two restaurants providing an alternative to hotel food. The hotel is right across from the train station which makes it a very convenient location.

I would take a taxi to any place you want to go. Walking is hot and streets are not that interesting.

Huang

The hotel located at a perfect location which is closed to the train station and National CK University. While it is the highest building at that area, It also has a great view of Tainan City. Well, I might highly suggest that when you visit Tainan you should try every delicious snacks you can find. However, services and food are also wonderful in this hotel. If you are lazy or meet a raining day, stay a day in the hotel is a relaxed choice, too.

This is the best hotel that I

This is the best hotel that I ever stay in the whole of Taiwan, The room was clean, service was excellant, breakfast was good, location was good as it was just next to the train station. I went with my parent and silbing, total 5 person. Book 2 deluxe room which including one handicap room. The room was big for a wheelchair person to move around. We reach there early and they are kind to let us check-in one of the room for my parent to rest. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is gg to Tainan.

Shangri-La was the best hotel

Shangri-La was the best hotel I have stayed during my 10 days in Taiwan-Tainan. Prices was cheap. Room was very clean & spacious. I like the dining-in room services which I can order foods in the middle of the night. When u ran out of ice when drinking, just a call & the ice will be deliver within 10 mins. Room was equiped with internet ethernet cable, universal plug, clothes ironing & movable TV.

Short but sweet

We took the HSRT from Taipei to Tainan. The free shuttle took us right to the Tainan main rail station which is right across from the hotel. The hotel itself was very comfortable and welcoming. The lobby staff was always making sure you are served. The buffet breakfast was great. The outdoor pool was very relaxing after a whole day of walking around. For the price, compared to the Taipei location, this is a great choice.

Stayed here one night with the whole family for 3400 TWD, which is a bargain. We didn't experience much of the facilities apart from breakfast but we have no complaints worth mentioning. The room was large and tastefully decorated. Beds were comfortable.

Incredible to say the least!

Luxurious hotel next to the University in Tainan. The fitness center had all of the right equipment such as free weights, machines, yoga mats, treadmills, and so on. The rooms are spacious and very modern and chic. The free buffet breakfast that is included with your room is fabulous as well. The serivce is also of the wall. If you like being pampered and treated like a rock star stay at this hotel!

Best Hotel We've Ever Stayed In

The Shangri-la Hotel was the best hotel we've ever stayed in. We spent a night in Tainan to visit my fiance's 93 year old grandfather who lives there. We invited him to come with us to the hotel for dinner. The experience was fantastic. Not only was the prices very reasonable the service was excellent. We've never seen our grandfather eat so much in one sitting! Service staff was particularly skilled at speaking both Mandarin and English which is a surprise (The service staff's english was better than some of the service staff we've seen in even Hong Kong!). The most amazing thing was grandfather left a message for us to call us back in Mandarin. We received notice in English because they remembered we didn't really speak the language! All this on top of the fact that the rooms were exquisite, the bathrooms were really nice and the swimming area was excellent. Our stay included a buffet breakfast which exceeded even the best buffet breakfasts we've tried in Vegas(where my fiance lives) in terms of selection (Asian and North American dishes) and quality(that means the Bellagio and Planet Hollywood). We were really delighted with this hotel especially with the service.

Shopping tip: In Hotel

There is a handy shopping mall attached to the hotel which includes a supermarket in the basement as well as a mini-food court. The most interesting store there was a jewelry store that sold replicas of the National Treasures in gold on the main floor.
