The Mei Yuan Restaurant
It is known that when Jiang Kai Shek resided in the hotel, plum blossoms were always visible from his residence and the plum blossom garden located in the front of the hotel was a place that he frequented. Inspired by this.Silks Place Taroko's Mei Yuan Restaurant exudes an air of simple elegance that gives you a spacious and comfortable dining environment. Two VIP rooms provide for special guests and the menu features dishes highlighting several local ingredients of Hualian and recipes from Jiang Kai Shek's hometown to give you a taste of local history and culture.
The Wellesley Restaurant
Wesley Restaurant is named in honor of Jiang Kai Shek's wife, who unlike her husband had a love for western cuisine, which stemmed from her studies at Wesleyan University in Connecticut. With an indoor and outdoor dining area, you are surrounded by Taroko's beautiful landscape as you dine on artistic masterpieces of culinary fusions. Madame Jiang's favorite salad, Wesleyan pork chop, and fruitcake are just some of the items you can find on the menu.

An excellent place to bring foreigners. Just one sore point regarding the leisure facilities....the sauna facilities were too small...and there was no steam room! This is a serious matter for a 5* hotel.
