- The rooms vary in size, but most are medium sized. Despite the fact that this is quite an old building, these rooms are decorated and furnished in cutting edge designer style. The furniture itself is mostly black and polished wood floors and white walls make for a clean modern look. The colour of the state of the art lights can be altered depending on the guests mood. The bathrooms are also the epitomy of up-to-date cool with top quality amenities and a Plattenhof bathrobe. Both the rooms and the bathrooms are in exceptional condition.

Very clean, pleasant - bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately there was no airconditioning and it was over 30C in Zurich when I stayed - it was difficult to sleep in the heat. Restaurant is excellent and better value than down town. Staff very friendly and helpful - but no airconditioning!

Wonderful staff and very sleek decor
We stayed at the Hotel Plattenhof on the last night of our European vacation - there were signs off the main street directing us to the hotel which was very helpful as Zurich is a confusing city in which to drive - the check in and check out was flawless and the reception staff was very helpful in arranging our airport transport - we left before the breakfast and the staff made sure we had some coffee and croissants to go - the hotel is very sleek - a real change from the US - I would definitely stay here again.
