- By aeroplane: From the airport, tram route 10 provides a direct connection to the hotel in 30 minutes. Get off at the "Haldenegg" stop. The journey costs CHF 6.40. By train: From the main train station, take tram route 6 (in the direction of the Zoo) or tram route 10 (in the direction of Oerlikon). Get off at the second stop ("Haldenegg"), directly in front of the hotel. By car: Over the brigde to Cental, from there up Weinbergstrasse. Leonhardstrasse is the first street on the right, and the Leoneck Hotel is diagonally opposite. A limited number of garage spaces are available, bookable on request. Cost per night CHF 25.00.

Perfect price and location

Good location & decent value, but that's about all
The Leoneck had a decent/comfortable no-frills room, but the cable lineup is great (including channels from all over Europe). Location is excellent (central). However, I could not get my boarding pass printed as the business center computer was down and the desk staff would not print one for me from their computer. Also was surprised to find out that the ORB rate did not include breakfast, for which they wanted me to charge a "cool" extra SFr17. Be sure to check what's included...

Mrs.
Room was nice, but smelled old. they tried to place scented bags the closet to cover the smell. We not too bad, but I did notice. Over all I would stay there again. It was clean and had a great location, with the bus transfers. , just outside the front entrace of the lobby.

MOOO!
the cow theme was a fun thing. BUT the breakfast offering was NOT! walked for breakfast buffet, saw burnt bread, boiling your own eggs, and little selection of other things. BUT THE WORST thing was the $$$$. way too much. and there wasn't another place to eat for serveral blocks.

Great location
The locatin is excellent for viewing the downtown area. There is a tram stop just outside the front door. The decore is a lttle cheesy but would be fun for kids. "Cows" everywhere. Great for picture taking. The staff is friendly and very helpful. If you are driving a car this is not the best place to stay, the parking is far away and very skinny parking places.

an economical hotel but good design
It is very convenient to the main station and to the airport by tram. No water boiler in the room so it is not so convient for my child.

Friendly and inviting
The Leonid has a bar called "The Crazy Cow." That gives you an idea of the sense of humor the management has. The room was small but comfortable. There is a tram stop directly in front of the Leonid, which goes to the Airport. Very convenient for coming in and leaving Zurich. The ride was about 30 minutes. (It's a shorter ride on the train.) We bought all-day passes for the tram almost each day we were in Zurich. The all-day pass gets you on the tram, bus, train, even on the funnicular (basically a cog railroad) - pretty much any public transportation in Zone 10 (Downtown Zurich). Even so, we walked kilometers each day -most of it up and down hills. Bring walking shoes!

The Kunstmuseum (Art Museum) was fantastic! Highly recommended. You can take the tram there, as well as just about anywhere in Zurich.

a great hotel for the price
The hotel and staff were great and the location was near everything that we wanted to see and were able to walk to. The train station is five minutes away by walking and a real plus. The wifi did not work on our iphones but the free hotel computer was very adequate. And the staff were fantastic in helping us.

Decent
Flying into and out of Zurich, we stayed at this hotel twice. Each room was on the street side, and the first night in particular was very noisy, between the trams and people. Staff was friendly, helpful, very capably English speaking. Free internet available on limited basis. The hotel does charge $17 francs per person for breakfast. The location is about a ten minute walk uphill from the train station, but is also only a ten minute walk from the heart of old town, which has many shops, cafes, restaurants.
