Hotel Greulich Rooms

- The eight suites are accessible straight from the garden. With their large windows and the roofed corridor, they remind you of mini lofts. The living and sleeping space is spread over two floors. What lends an aesthetic air to these spacious rooms is the bright atmosphere and the focus on the essential needs of a hotel guest. There is plenty of storage room for your clothing and suitcases. The bathrooms are an integral part of the suites, only separated by screens of milk glass. The rooms may be plain, but the view onto the patio could lend wings to your imagination.
- Garden Room
- Opposite the junior suites, underneath the roof of the patio, you can access the ten garden rooms. Their furnishings are also reduced to the essentials. The bright ambience offers enough room for working and lounging. A desk, a TV set, a radio, a large wardrobe and a window niche for the luggage are at the guest's disposal. The shower is situated in the middle of the room, hidden behind milk glass, which throws playful shadows onto the interior of the room. Thus, daylight is one of the most important elements of the dcor.

Great place to stay
Rooms clean, minimalist, cool (in the trendy sense) and very comfortable. All staff very friendly and welcoming. Waitress helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay. Area quiet. Hotel tucked neatly into a corner. Trees in courtyard a nice feature. Definitely not just another faceless hotel.

Decent hotel — excellent value for Zurich
I have stayed in the Greulich a couple of times. The hotel is located in a convenient and interesting — if somewhat seedy — part of the city (works for me), a 20 minute walk from the central train station. Good restaurants that are open late and good places for morning coffee. The rooms are pleasant, quiet, and modern, with very comfortable beds and an excellent radio to connect your personal player to. Then of course, there is the all-important free Wi-Fi with good speed and coverage. The staff are friendly and helpful. The only down sides are that there is no fitness room and no a-la-carte breakfast — only a hugely expensive buffet which, in all honesty, I could not justify the cost for, when all I want is a coffee and sandwich for breakfast. However, reasonably priced good coffee and sandwiches are available in cafe's close by. Given the eye watering costs for business class hotels in Zurich, this hotel gives excellent value, with everything that a business traveler needs and I recommend it without reservation.

Use public transport in Zurich. The taxis are a pure ripoff and the transit system very easy to use, efficient, and punctual. Whatever you do — *do not* take a taxi to the airport. It will cost 70 CHF. Take the train to/from the HB.

My wife and I stayed one night at the Greulich before flying back to the states from Zurich at the end of a short vacation. The staff is very young and eager to please. Our basic garden room was a minimal masterpiece, comfortable, small, but beautiful. The bath/shower area is all glass sliding partitions. Very contemporary & chic. Fresh peaches were left for us on each bedtable, and on a shelf underneath a complimentary pair of slippers. Very nice. If you are looking for closet space or dresser drawers, however, find another hotel. We had two large suitcases and another large gym bag, and it was difficult to find space to store them unobstrusively. The TV is tiny but works well. Parking is an extra 20 CH but is very secure and easy to access. We enjoyed our three course meal at the restaurant, too, where again the emphasis is on small but elegant. Very pricey, but very memorable. I am not sure I would return to this hotel if ever I was in Zurich again, however, prefering instead to try to book one of many located around the shore of Lake Zurich. Still, I recommend it to anyone looking for a unique resting and dining experience on the night before before driving to the Zurich airport, just 5.3 miles away. My wife and I arrived at the Greulich early in order to spend the whole day sight-seeing in Zurich, and access to public transportation was easy and fun with the 7.50 CH day pass, that we purchased at the recommendation of the desk clerk.
