Extremely unpleasant and noisy staying
Dear Sirs, I would definitely not recommend this hotel to my friends. There is one beer bar and a night club in the hotel, so it was extremely loud music and shoutings till about 4 oclock in the morning, so I did not sleep the whole night. Good hotel for the location and price
The hotel was in a great location about a 10 minute walk to the train station and located next the major tram stops. The price was the best for the area. We just spent one night in Zurich and had a good nights sleep. However there are multiple bars below and does get louder into the wee hours of the night. The breakfast was delicious and filling.

Great Hotel
I went to Zurich for two days on a business trip. This hotel has the best location in Zurich, walking distance to anywhere and the staff are helpfull in what to do or even how to go around Zurich on public transportation

Hip and friendly!
We were on the third floor, and while we could hear the nightclubs a little, it wasn't very loud at all. Beautiful views and steps from the trams. Awesome continental breakfast delivered right to you.

Not what I expected!
Thank Goodness we were there for only one night! We (a friend and I) had been traveling, by car, through Italy and we were flying out of Zurich early the next morning. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean, but the shower was in the bedroom making privacy impossible! To make matters worse, the toilets (his and hers) were not in the room but out in the hallway and shared with several other rooms. Oh, and by the way, the wall between the his and her toilets did not go all the way to the floor so you could see the feet and hear the person next to you! To make matters worse the whole bottom floor was under construction, with walls torn down and in a complete mess. Not my idea of a dream vacation!

I now realize the Hotel Goldenes
I now realize the Hotel Goldenes Schwert is not the same as the cheaper Residence Goldenes Schwert: the hotel rooms have their own toilet and bathtub, the rooms in the Residence 100 yards away have a shower but the toilet is on the corridor. For the rest the infrastructure is comparable. There may be noise from rock music in the basement in both places: we're in the middle of a very cosy Zürich club district.
