Great Place, Great View
This is a wonderful hotel. The owner (I think she is the owner) picked us up at the train station in an electric vehicle - the only kind allowed in Zermatt. She checked us into a beautiful corner room (205) with a balcony that had an excellent view of the Matterhorn. Breakfast was very good and the owner was extremely helpful with advice on where to go, the weather and mountain conditions, arranging a (free) taxi back to the train station, early breakfast the day we left, etc.

We had dinner all 3 nights at Romantikhotel, about 100 meters up the street and probably the best restaurant in the city, according to other diners. They had incredible specials every night.

Hotel Chesa Valese was a gold mine! Its location in Zermatt was convenient, the hotel environment sweet, immaculate, efficient but the real value was in staff. I appreciated their professionalism, but I loved their warmth and total commitment to our comfort and well being!!
