- ca. 30 square meters, with bath/WC, direct dialling phone, radio, cable-TV, safety-box, minibar and sitting corner.Our in autumn 2007 new decorated superior twin rooms "Fire & Ice" are fitted with an open bath area, with a separate shower and discrete WC. A double bathtub, together with a double washstand made from acacia wood with two glass sit-on basins is installed. The acacia wood together with the cool glass sit-on basins and glass walls act together with the brushed, oiled acacia wood floor and the very exclusive fabric from the Designer-Guild Kusumam like "Fire & Ice".

- Nestled at the foot of the Matterhorn, lies the idyllic alpine resort of Zermatt, which has developed into one of Switzerland's premier summer and winter resorts. No motor vehicles are allowed within Zermatt; the only allowed means of transport are horse-sleighs and carriages, alongside bicycles and electric cars. This aids in giving one of the best pre-requisites for a relaxing and peaceful vacation within the idyllic setting that is Zermatt. Train: Upon arrival in Brig or Visp, it is possible to connet with the cog railway - "Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn", which takes you on a 90 min journey up throug the ruggedy romantic foothills of the valley, into the alpine resort of Zermatt. Please let us know of your arrival time into Zermatt train station, and we will arrange for our electric car to come and fetch you to bring you to our hotel.

Quick trip to Zermatt made even easier by the Alpenhofhotel!
Unfortunately I was only able to stay 1 night in Zermatt for two days of snowboarding. Wish I could've stayed all week. While the location isn't great for heading to the pubs, it was excellently located to one of the lift stations and to the bus stop to go to the other lift at the Kliene Matterhorn. The staff were unbelieveably helpful. I arrived early Saturday morning and stopped in to drop my bag off and head to the slopes. They said my room was already ready (far in advance of regular check-in time). They recommended a great place to rent from (which I also got a discount) and took care of getting my bag to my room so I could get on the slopes sooner. I had a single room which was very small and cozy (which I expected). The charm of the room was fantastic though! Very fun. Snowboard storage was easy and convenient. Especially appreciated the lockers and boot warmers! I had to check out the next morning before going back to the slopes. There was no problem in keeping my bag until I returned at the end of the day. Overall, they made my quick stay very easy. The front desk staff spoke excellent English and made it very easy for me to everything I wanted to do on my short stay.

Short walk from hotel
Unless the snow is good, don't purchase the international lift ticket. I only did 1 run on the Italy side - very icy and little natural snow. Swiss side was incredible and much more snow!

Hotel Alpenhof Zermatt
Excellent Hotel, new modern rooms with a nice combination of rustical construction and modern accessories. Perfectly located and very friendly staff. GOOD SWISS HOTELLERIE AS IT HAS TO BE! Anytime again, highly recommended.

Gornergrad, nice walk to Zermatt with the Matterhorn always in View. Sunegga with the Restaurant walk back to downtown. A heavenly experience
