Stunning mountain and valley views from sun-kissed terraces and dramatic picture windows await you at Hotel Caprice, a Swiss-chalet boutique retreat 400 metres above the Lauterbrunnen Valley amidst excellent hiking and skiing country. Inside this alpine retreat, you will find a decor comprising lots of natural wood with spacious, light and airy rooms, all decorated in warm, subtle tones. Relax on your balcony and marvel at the incredible view of the Jungfrau mountain range. Outside, the superb ski slopes and Wengernalp Railway, which provides access to many attractions, are only steps away. After a long day on the piste, sit outside on the restaurant terrace and dine on fantastic French cuisine. Remain outside for a nightcap as you admire the night sky or on chillier evenings, move inside and sit among the low tables and plush furniture of the lounge bar as you listen to music.

Alpine Grandeur awaits

The teaser lines put in by the hotel itself on the description was absolutely accurate, a hikers paradise for sure and a couch potatoes dream too. The view from the rooms(upgraded)was unmatched and almost surreal. The Jungfrau is magnificent and seemingly close enough to touch. The staff spoke excellent english and were overboard hospitable and full of knowledge about the area and where to send you to hike, according to your ability or desire. The food was the only real drawback for us since it was to much fuss and small portions for the money we thought, but it was tasty none the less. The veranda on the Jungfrau side was wonderful and the beer was too. We hiked and saw some of the most spectacular scenery the world has to offer in our opinion.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

Not to much to choose from in Wengen and what was there was overpriced and touristy, mass produced things it seemed. We hiked and took cable cars to Murren and it was much better for shopping and casual dining and offered another spectacular view back towards Wengen.

First class - very hospitable!

We had a fantastic stay at the Hotel Caprice over a summer weekend. Perfectly situated in beautiful Wengen less than 100m from the train station. The staff were very friendly and made us feel truly at home, even with our rambunctious kids. Have dinner in the 5-star restaurant in the hotel. We ate sitting outside on the patio watching the sun go down over Lauterbrunnen valley. Unbeatable!
