Jail Hotel

The Jailhotel is located in the heart of Lucerne. The prison, which was built in 1862, was rebuilt to the first prison Hotel in 1999. Young people from all over the world - from backpacker to businessman, stay in Jail. Mostly because of it's great location in the heart of Lucerne and also to get the unique jail - experience. The Jailhotel has 56 cells, from the original Unplugged" cell to four comfortable suites. All rooms have their private bathroom with shower and are equipped basic. The "Unplugged" rooms also have a private shower which is not in the room itself but on the other side of the corridor. The reception is manned 24 hours. The Jailhotel - Team will help you with all your questions and concerns. At the comprehensive breakfast buffet you can encourage yourself from Monday - Friday from 7 - 10 am and during the weekend from 7 - 11 am. Unfortunately the Hotel has no private parking but only 5 minutes away (walking distance) is the public parking "Altstadt" (www.parking-luzern.ch). You can also buy special parking cards directly at the reception wherewith you can park on the public parking spaces in the city Lucerne which are marked white or blue. If you arrive with public transport you will reach the Hotel within 7 minutes (walking distance) from the train station Lucerne or in 5 minutes by taxi which will be ready for you at the train station. You will reach the the points of interest of Lucerne easy by walking.
