The Hotel Des Alpes is situated on the River Reuss with a fantastic view over the Alps and the famous Chapel Bridge. It is located in the pedestrian area of the historic old part of Lucerne. The Hotel is only a 3 minute walk from the train station; the congress center; the famous concert hall and all the must see sights of Lucerne. Our excellent restaurant offers the finest cuisine. Enjoy the romantic setting on our terrace with river views. The hotel has been a non-smoking hotel since 2007. Additional information: Children under the age of 5 years stay free in the room with parents and in existing bedding. The hotel reserves the right without prior notification to cancel any reservation with any incomplete or invalid credit card number.

Terrible

We requested full refund of our staying because they have problems with water. It fluctuates. during the shower cold water stoped and any hot water blew... Avoid this hotel.

Great Location !!

The hotel is in the historical old town and is a lake front property with great views !! The non-lake view rooms are too small and not very comfy BUT the lake view rooms are definately good. Tons of places to eat within few minutes of walking.

Good Hotel

A good choice if you are travelling by train (it's an easy walk from the station) and get a room with a river view. It was particularly nice sitting outside for breakfast.

Solid hotel in great location

This is a very good hotel I have stayed in twice. It is clean, super easy to get to from the train station, has an excellent restaurant and satisfactory service. It is 3 star and that is fair. It's not exceptional but is certainly worth what you pay for. All the rooms are updated and everything works properly. The internet connection is very slow, but that is normal in small, resort hotels like this. I will stay there again.

Time-saving tip: In Hotel

Be sure an go around to the back entrance (one street over) if you are walking with your bags from the train station. If not, you will be fumbling with your bags through the restaurant. The actual entrance is on one street back from the waterfront in an area you will think is an alleyway (it's not) and there is a big wooden door marked with the hotel name. This is where you want to enter to check in.

Try Old Swiss House Restaurant the best weinerschnitzel in the entire country, the restaurant is nearby the Lion Monument and I give it a five star rating.

Great location

In the heart of Lucerne

Food vendors on Saturday are amazing. Lots of shopping and good food within blocks. An easy walk to the train station.

Go to the "Suite" Club at the top of the Monopol hotel... it's a short walk... no cover, and really great view of the city.
