This is a simple, no-nonsense hotel for travellers on a budget for whom location and basic comfort are more important than frills and as such comes highly recommended. As a general note, check-in is not possible directly at the hotel before 5:00 p.m. Anyone arriving before this time and wishing to check in needs to go to the hotel Monopol by the train station (its sister hotel). 0109SR This is a traditional building, blending in with its neighbours. A fresh garden offers you quiet and relaxation with the soft whispering of leaves and the bubbling of a small waterfall. This hotel will be the ideal refuge to spend a fantastic week end or your romantic and exclusive holiday.

The rooms are small and cosy. They are decorated in a rather dated style, but the furniture, fixtures, and fittings are of a high quality and, although old, are in good condition. The bathrooms are also in good condition, but old fashioned.

Very convenient position next

Very convenient position next to train station. Nice room with lounge/sitting area which we had the use of if needed. Only downfall was a noisy bar next door which was open until 4am. Apparantlythe bar is closing in October.

This hotel is in an excellent

This hotel is in an excellent location -short walk from the main station, close to Lake as well as Old Town, trendy shops and restaurants. The rooms are quite small, but adequate. The hot breakfast included in the adjoining Monopole Hotel is a bonus. There is a medical centre in the Monopole complex, which turned out to be convenient for us.

The hotel is quite decent for

The hotel is quite decent for the price. The location is just next to the train station and bus station which makes it very convenient. The only complain was the sound from the entertainment outlets in the night if the windows were open.

knowledgeable desk staff; clean facilities; close by to Lucerne's KKzentrum and the city's two major art museums, as well as the Bahnhof -- priced right!

great breakfast-next to popular bar

THis place was a great VALUE for sure, but it's located next to a bar that has their bathroom on the first floor of the hotel. It's terribly smokey on the first floor, ( i had to have a wet towel on the floor of the door to prevent it coming in the room) It was very noisy till 1am when i finally took nyquil and passed out. You have to ask for the top floors. Sun the bar isn't open so you'll be okay on any floor. There is a wonderful breakfast spread, everybody would be very happy w/ that.! Perfect location, 1 min from train station, which you don't hear anything. 1 min from town.

Sehr kleines "Bad" (Dusche und

Sehr kleines "Bad" (Dusche und WC); Waschbecken waren im Schlafzimmer selbst. Ausstattung (Kacheln, Telefon) erinnern im 1960s Stil. Frühstück gibt es nicht im Alpina sondern im (besseren) Nachbarhotel Metropol. Dort gibt es auch Concierge-Service, denn die Rezeption im Alpina ist nur sporadisch besetzt - Selbsteinlass mit Schlüssel. Im Parterre eine Bar (kann sehr laut sein) aber unser Zimmer in der 4.Etage war relative ruhig aber Strassenlärm war bei offenem Fenster zu hören. Insgesamt ein recht enttäuschendes Hotel. Trotz vorbezahlter Buchung über diese Webseite (mit Voucher) dauerte das Check-In ungewohnt lange und es wurden viele Infos plus Kreditkarte (als Sicherheit für die Minibar) verlangt. Richtig empfehlen kann ich das Hotel nicht, für uns war das Plus die Nähe zum Bahnhof (kurze Wege mit unserem Gepäck) daher habe ich die Lage hoch bewertet.

Die Lagr oertlich gesehen ist

Die Lagr oertlich gesehen ist zentral, jedoch in einer Strasse die unglaublich laut ist. Ein Pup diereckt im EG des Hotels laermt bis in die Morgenstunden. Fruehstuecksraum im Nachbarhotel, also bei Wind und Wetter ueber die Strasse und das Personal beim Fruehstueck ist dem Andrang von 2 Haeusern nicht immer gewachsen. Negativ ist auch, dass das Hotel keinen Pkw Parkplatz anbieten kann und somit kosten 3 Tage Parken noch einmal 120 CHF. Empfehlung, dieses Hotel wuerden wir nicht wieder buchen.
