We went to the Olympic Museum, on the Chocolate Tour Train, and went to visit Chateau de Chillon in Montreaux. All 3 were ... amazing !!

The staff was very friendly when I arrived and remainded that way the whole time I was there. The rooms were a good ... size....plenty of space to be comfortable in. The bathroom was also a nice size. The rooms were also nice and clean. The best thing about this hotel is it's location, it's right in the city and just a short walk to old town the train station, and pretty much everything else. The only thing missing for me was a fitness center.

The hotel is a 5-minute cab ride from the Lausanne train station, but you have to be in shape to walk it, as it's a really steep climb up from the station, but it's an easy walk back down the hill to catch a train. Also an easy walk to the cathedral and the central business area, which are also up on the hill.

Great Base for Personal Travel

Our room at the De La Paix was not their most recently updated room, but very comfortable. The room was large and very sound ... proof. Feather duvets, good lighting, separate sitting area and hot pot w/tea & coffee. Good sized, spotless bath with deep soaking tub, quality toiletries and plenty of large fluffy towels. Arrived on a Sunday night so only the upscale restaurant was open with few light meal options and nothing else nearby was open. (Lausanne seems to shut down on Sunday evening.) Our shared meal was one of the most memorable we had in Europe-duck w/white peaches-glorious desserts. The waiter was very personable and charming despite our not ordering wine or appetizers. Fixed price meals around 45/70 SF pp. The dining room was elegant and we had a nice view overlooking the city and the distant lake. Breakfast in the morning consisted of a variety of breads, cheeses, meats, yogurt, cereals, scrambled eggs and sausage, juices, fresh fruit, lots of beverage options. Front desk gave us bus passes for our stay and clear directions. Professional, quietly attentive and approachable staff. The only down side is people seemed to smoke everywhere-a problem we found in several cities/hotels. Clearly a hotel marketed to the business traveller, but a pleasant option for tourists, too. An excellent stay given the price of our room.

the value,location and quality of service was excellent. I was able to check in early which was very helpful. The staff was ... friendly and helpful. The room was clean, attractive and comfortable but small. However the balcony with a view of the lake made up for the small size.

Great Breakfast, Great View!

The complimentary breakfast buffet was amazing --- delicious ham, cheeses, eggs, fruit, cereals, croissants, yogurt, and on ... and on . . . all while gazing out at beautiful Lake Geneva and the mountains beyond. Our room, while not directly facing the lake, was on the side of the hotel, and from our balcony we could look down the side street for an excellent lake view.

Very kid/family friendly

We found this hotel to be the best out of all other (4 hotels to be precise) hotels we stayed in europe during our 11-day ... trip. Hotel room/staff/breakfast was excellent. Only thing we found was eventhough it's location close to Lausanne rail-station, it becomes not walkable if you have heavy luggage since it's on up-slope street.
