Above-average amenities in Geneva hotel near train station
This six-floor hotel near Cornavin train station has several advantages over nearby competitors. Guests enjoy free buffet breakfast and free Wi-Fi. Vibrant red and orange accents and plentiful artwork in the lobby and rooms offer a refreshing change from the standard-issue decor found in many three-star hotels. Excelsior offers triple rooms -- rare in Geneva -- and two suites with full kitchen. Guests can reach the train station or Lake Geneva within a five-minute walk.

Great place to stay!
We enjoyed this hotel very much. The location was great and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The only downside was if you left your window open at night it was sometimes a little noisy, especially in the morning when the street cleaner came. I would definately stay here again!

Good value for Money!
This hotel was really good value. It's close to the Gare Cornavin. I just had to figure out which side of the road I was on :). The lake is also just a few blocks away, which was excellent! The breakfast buffet was adequate, the staff were really courteous and the room was nice and clean although very small. But all things - especially my budget - considered. It was worth it!

The shops underground at the Gare have good bargains, you have to search patiently and carefully to find them :). Go deeper into the mall, don't finish off at thew entrance.

Hotel Excelsior Geneva
Room are extremely noisy, tile floors, no rugs, you can hear the person upstairs VERY easily. Rooms have no venulation unless you open a window, very problematic in the winter. Room was extremely small ~7' x 12'. 0nly one medium size towel, the bar of soap is the size of postage stamp & 1/8" thick. Location is very good, only a few blocks from the central train station.

Everything very well, but breakfast
Everything very well, but breakfast omelette was not that good as i expected in comparison to other hotel i stayed in Germany immediately after excelsior hotel

Clean and Friendly but Small
[...] Very small rooms with single bed. 1 1/2 steps from door to end of room. Very clean, very friendly staff, breakfast was included and was very nice. Free internet in room was appreciated however the desk that was provided did not have an outlet near it so the laptop had to be used on the single bed. Very noisy but it is smack downtown and only 2 blocks to the train that runs directly to the airport.

nice and clean, good location
friendly staff, bed and pillows are very nice and quality, the only thing that i didn't like was the dark brown wood decoration of the room

For the price paid (CHF 130) this
For the price paid (CHF 130) this is an excellent hotel to stay in the heart of Geneva. Very conveniently located, opposite Geneva's largest department store and 200 metres away from both the lake and the main station, the rooms are comfortable. Only drawback would be the tiny TV set.

a few blocks from the train station. street-side rooms are a bit noisy due to sidewalk cafes; across from major shopping center. free internet.
