Decent, good location
Great central location. Nice friendly service at check-in. My early morning check-out was a disaster however as the office closes at night (was not aware) and no one showed up until 7:05am the next morning... (I needed to leave at 6:30am in order to catch my train).

Great Location
Quaint older hotel right in the center of Geneva and very convenient to the train station. Full queen beds available - not two twins pushed together. Fast free Internet. Breakfast is basic but OK. Rooms are small as is common in Europe but who is going to spend a lot of time in your room in Geneva?

Nothing Special Here
We arrived on the train and found the hotel very difficult to find due to the fact that the street changes direction and is not well marked. Also, the hotel has little or no signage and looks like a door to an old office building. It was only a few blocks from the train station and easily walked. The reception area consists of a small desk in the utility/breakfast area. There are stairs to get to the elevator so that access to the old building is limited. The building is also pensioner apartments mixed in with the hotel rooms. Overall the exterior was dirty with the rooms being old and worn but clean. The hotel is sited on one side of the river at the end of a bridge which provides access to both main areas of the city within a reasonable walking distance. But that bridge was a main thoroughfare with non stop traffic which created a very noisy location. The room was large and had a cozy nook type of corner outcropping that gave a nice view of the river. The bathroom was the plastic, one piece, camper type with a sink and shower only, that would barely fit a small person. There was an additional sink in the room that helped overcome the poor bath facilities. The breakfast in the hotel consisted of frozen and thawed, Costco type rolls, coffee and juice served in a small part of the reception/utility area. There were plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby but they were typically Swiss which means typically expensive. We had a pleasant stay in Geneva and most of the city is within walking distance (a couple of kilometers) so the hotel location was ok. I believe that next time we will try another hotel.

Great location, nice size room, friendly
We loved this hotel. It was about 4 blocks from the train station--easy walk even with luggage. Room was large, with fireplace, sitting room and overlooking the Rhone River. The ensuite bath was extremely small and rather cramped, but adequate for ones needs! Continenal breakfast every morning from 7:00 to 10:00. A walk along the river will take you all the way to the Botanical Gardens and give you a good look at life and people in Geneva. People were very nice to offer help even if they didn't speak English. They knew enough to figure out what we needed. I knew a bit of French, but not nearly enough to pretend that I could converse.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
Washer and dryer on premises for 6sf. Food is rather expensive so we took along pb crackers and bought an apple or fruit cup from vendor along the river walk. Hand scooped ice cream was available along the way and oh so yummy. Taxi fare from hotel to airport iss 30sf, I tipped 2sf

A éviter
ABE. Olivier
