Central Geneva hotel with unique swinging appeal
Hotel Cornavin offers an idyllic location in central Geneva, just a few steps away from the train station. This chic hotel offers 164 comfortable rooms furnished with modern design. With its convenient location in the city, guests can easily reach banks, commercial establishments not to mention the scenic lake nearby. Comfortable and Great Location
The best feature of this hotel is it's location. You are steps from the train station, and city public transportation abounds within a block. The lake is a short walk away, and shopping is too. The hotel serves only breakfast in its restaurant, and it's bar is tiny and has only a basic selection, so you pretty much have to rely on nearby restaurants for meals. But the restuarant has spectacular views, and it would be worth the approx. $30 it charges to eat breakfast there. The rooms are very comfortable, and have a nice coffee service; the hotel staff is very helpful.

Several coffee shops are nearby the hotel, but don't be suprised if a bevy of balck capped chickadees invade and beg for crumbs from you - they are part of the Geneva scene.

very pleased
with Hotel Cornavin. Location could not be better for transport connections and there are a variety of affordable restaurants nearby. Geneva can be a very pricey city, but I found good Thai, Vietnamese, and North African cafes with reasonable prices as well as the food in some nearby bars. Staff was friendly and noise was not an issue.

Perfect Location
If you're looking for a convenient place to stay that is close to almost every bus route in Geneva, this is your best bet. It's literally across the street from the main Geneva train station. The hotel will give you a free transportation card good for travel on any bus or tram in Geneva. Room was comfortable and clean, stayed on the 8th floor (panoramic views) where the restaurant was as well. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. Wifi is 20CH for 7 days which is a bit much considering most hotels include that (this is the only reason I didn't give them 5 stars).

great location
if you fly into Geneva, you can get a free rail voucher from a dispenser in baggage claim for travel into town (train will say Lausanne, the first stop is Gare Cornavin). Exit the Cornavin rail station and immediately to your right is the Hotel Cornavin. Thankfully, Swiss railroads are pretty quiet although the one downside of the hotel is the amount of noise a neighbor can generate. okay value breakfast (for Geneva) at 19 Swiss francs and it starts at 6:00 am, very friendly staff who are multi-lingual. Computer/internet is not free, but they were very nice in not charging when I had connectivity issues.

you only have to get a block away from Rue Mont Blanc for decent value restaurants--there's no need to pay $50 for an average steak with fries. Try the North African, Thai, Vietnamese or other ethnic places.

quality and price both excellent
One small convenience was very nice -- the free transit pass for the duration of the stay in Geneva. This made it so EASY to get around it was an excellent addition to my stay. I had a ride on La Muette as well as the trams.

Convenient location and great service
This was a beautiful weekend in Geneva. Weather was clear and warm - always helps. This was a wrap-up to my overall week-long vacation. Lake cruises are reasonable, but lake-shore activities (expansive kiddie-oriented amusements parks) are annoying. Great to visit the 'old city' and its history along with chess games along the promenade.

decent place
The room was small, but that was expected and was fine. Great use of space for a small room, though. Location is super-convenient, but being close to the train station means some noise if the window is open. Beautiful view from 8th-floor breakfast room. Breakfast is basic but fine: cereal, yogurt, fruit, breads, hard-boiled eggs -- no scrambled eggs, no mueslix. Would stay there again.
