Central Geneva hotel with unique swinging appeal
Hotel Cornavin offers an idyllic location in central Geneva, just a few steps away from the train station. This chic hotel offers 164 comfortable rooms furnished with modern design. With its convenient location in the city, guests can easily reach banks, commercial establishments not to mention the scenic lake nearby. The hotel also features a large pendulum hanging from the ninth floor and swings right at the ground floor of the property. Guests enjoy a panoramic view of Geneva while enjoying breakfast on site.

Clean and Convenient
I had an early flight out of Geneva. This hotels proximity to the train station along with an included one day transportation ticket for all public services (rail, bus, and tram) provided me with an exceptionally convenient way to enjoy an evening in the bustling shopping area of the central district before an early flight from the airport. The staff was professional and the business amenities exceptional. The décor is very modern and the clean Euro style complimented the experience. A mini fridge is available in the room with plenty of space for your personal travel snacks and beverages. I did not stay for the breakfast (not included) though the restaurant's 'Panoramic View" and location on the eighth floor allowed for a beautiful view of the city, lake (fountain too) and French Alps in the background.

Go underground! The train station and bus/tram depot is located on top of a huge mall that can be accessed by escalators. You name it...they got it!

Comfortable and Great Location
The best feature of this hotel is it's location. You are steps from the train station, and city public transportation abounds within a block. The lake is a short walk away, and shopping is too. The hotel serves only breakfast in its restaurant, and it's bar is tiny and has only a basic selection, so you pretty much have to rely on nearby restaurants for meals. But the restuarant has spectacular views, and it would be worth the approx. $30 it charges to eat breakfast there. The rooms are very comfortable, and have a nice coffee service; the hotel staff is very helpful.

Several coffee shops are nearby the hotel, but don't be suprised if a bevy of balck capped chickadees invade and beg for crumbs from you - they are part of the Geneva scene.

Great Hotel to Go Places
We intended to visit nearby places in and out of Geneva during our stay and tried to pick the hotel that would be located on one hand at a spot nearby public transportation hub (for Switzerland, think trains; for Geneva trams and sometimes buses, given it is free of charge for travelers staying at most hotels) on the other hand located in a pleasant neighborhood close to the center of the town. We wound up booking Cornavin hotel, and it proved to be an excellent fit for our purposes. It was a breeze to get anywhere and hotel's double windows and sound proof walls provided for a totally quiet room (even though it overlooked the train station). Certainly not a romantic or a cozy getaway place, but a clean and well maintained hotel at an excellent location with a beautiful breakfast room (overlooking the city and surrounding area) and mediocre to poor breakfast itself (unless a continental breakfast for 20 francs is what you want)

Nice Hotel, Convenient
Had to stay in GNVA for one night and next to the train station for easy access to airport train. Hotel Cornavin was very nice and right next to the train station. The rooms are new and clean and are a great value. I strongly recommend the hotel if you're looking for a cheap, convenient and nice room.

normally when I go for business is quite ok hotel. confortable, nice staff, next to the train station. the only thing I don't really like is the heating in the room is not so good
