Hotel Cornavin

all I needed was perfect ! Internet connection on their computer available at all times

with Hotel Cornavin. Location could not be better for transport connections and there are a variety of affordable restaurants nearby. Geneva can be a very pricey city, but I found good Thai, Vietnamese, and North African cafes with reasonable prices as well as the food in some nearby bars. Staff was friendly and noise was not an issue.

Pros: Location, cost, style Cons: you can't turn on the bathroom light without turning on the bedroom lights. This is problematic for the middle of the night bathroom trips. Also, the evening concierge is no good. The first night, they told us that breakfast was included in the room charges; at check out they told us that this was not correct. Then, they had difficulty recommending any fondue places to eat. He gave us a card for a place saying that he "didn't know much about it, except that it was close...." Not a very good recommnedation, if you ask me. All in all, though, it was a decent place to stay.

We used this hotel for a small business gathering. I would characterize it as a better than modest hotel, with good service, superb location, god breakfasts n a beautiful breakfast room. Prices are modest by Geneva standards unless there is a large UN function in town. IIt only serves breakfast, but it is surrounded by a variety of places to eat.

If you're looking for a convenient place to stay that is close to almost every bus route in Geneva, this is your best bet. It's literally across the street from the main Geneva train station. The hotel will give you a free transportation card good for travel on any bus or tram in Geneva. Room was comfortable and clean, stayed on the 8th floor (panoramic views) where the restaurant was as well. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. Wifi is 20CH for 7 days which is a bit much considering most hotels include that (this is the only reason I didn't give them 5 stars).

A great location for getting around Geneva and the surrounding countryside. There are shopping and restaurants nearby. The rooms are clean but ordinary. There were 3 twin beds in each of our rooms, so this seems to be a hotel for groups (skiers?) who want easy access to the train. Great for families on a budget.

stay was Ok. stayed in the panoromic rooms, very cold in the room, asked for them to check up...nothing happened. Oh, the big bed is really 2 beds put together, annoying if you are with your better half. A rude receptionnist on day 2. I avoided her like the plague from then on. Another funny thing happened, we were leaving the room for our days excursion and the housekeeper was outside the door, she complained that we had overstayed in the room and that she wanted to clean and finish up. what the..... we were only checking out the next day. When did staff get this nasty with no sense of customer care? like seriously! i did not even get angry as i thought it was some what amusing. When we came back, the cleanig was so substandard, she should have just left the room as was.............did not let that ruin our stay. They need to go back and have some refresher training on hospitality.

Nice, clean, convenient hotel with staff who speak excellent English. Breakfast is 18 Fr per person. There is wireless Internet but it is not free.

Very conveniently located. Corner rooms on higher level have fantastic view.

Perfect location: right next to the train station, walking distance to old town. Modern room, clean, spacing, comfortable. Staff are very helpful.
