- Reimersholme is a small island and a suburb of Stockholm's inner city. Lying west of Sdermalm and south of the neighboring island Langholmen it is centrally located but nevertheless secluded. The island is connected to Stockholm by the bridge Reimersholmsbron, which is 39 meters long and 13 meters wide. Passing over Reimersholmsbron you're met by an idyll with parks, bridges and beautiful walking trails, all with a full-fledged character. Until June 24th 1798 Reimersholme was called Rakneholmen. It's present name refers to Anders Reimer (1727-1816), a hatter and magistrate whose estate can still be found on the east side of the island. He owned a farm on the island's eastern side, Reimers malmgard. A wool manufacturing plant, Stockholms Yllefabrik, was built during the 1860s where prisoners from Langholmen Prison used to work. In the 1980s the remaining southern part of the island.

For a "budget" hotel I was very
For a "budget" hotel I was very pleasantly surprised at the well kept and modern hotel. The only draw back was that the bathrooms were in the corridor but there were lots of them so no queing problems! Breakfast was OK. The staff were fantastic, especially Peter in the reception gave exceptionally good service and even phoned me at home when we had problems with booking the right room - excellent!

Great place to stay if you want
Great place to stay if you want quiet, and the staff are extremely helpful. Is located in the older part of the city and you have to catch a bus or metro into town. We had no trouble getting around.
