The hotel is of a good standard with many additional features, such as a nightclub, whirlpool, sauna and solarium to add value and benefit to any stay. The hotel was built in 1890 and its belle epoque style is evident in much of its architecture. The hotel is located in the city centre on the main shopping street, only 900 metres from the central railway station and near to the bus terminal. Only a short walk from the hotel is the harbour and new maritime museum.
