Hotel Antemare & Spa

Stayed at hotel for 4 nights. This hotel is in 2 distinct sections - actually spread across a road with a passageway between the two that goes beneath the road - not very far though. The section where the main reception is, dining room, bar and pool is much more modern with some rooms that have a pool view. The section at the back across the road seems older and more "functional" with meeting rooms and bedrooms that are ok if you are there for a business trip but nothing special at all - they feel a bit old and tired - as you will after you've walked up all the twists and turns and stairs to find your room!! There's no lift in this section it seems. The room has decent wardrobe space, old fashioned TV with only 1 channel in English, 2 single (rather hard) beds pushed together, aircon but with no temp control - just has fan speed setting so you'll probably wake up freezing in the early morning even with it on the lowest setting. The bathroom had a bath with shower, bidet, single sink and toilet - quite spacious but well worn like the rest of the room. The view from these rooms is poor with nothing but the roof of the building below or other buildings to look at - although it's nice and quiet. Breakfast was great - lots of things to choose from, hot and cold foods, cereals, fruit and freshly squeezed juices, great coffee and tea - excellent. The main pool is very nice too. They rent bikes at this hotel which is a good way to save the walking - €12 a day. Location wise it's about a 15 min walk from the main shopping area set in a residential street, not a big issue but don't expect to just pop back to the hotel mid day if you want to pickup something. Of course the beach is 2 mins away - but you need to walk a further 5-10 mins towards the main town to reach the first food place on the front. If coming from the station get a taxi - unless you want a 30-40 min walk. Overall pretty average I think, definitely not amazing for the price. Rooms were the major let down here. Ask for a room in the main part of the hotel around the pool. The Calipolis Hotel (if you can get in there) has much better rooms with balconies and sea views and is far more central for the town - shopping, food places and bars.

The Antemare was only a block from the beach with a very nice pool. It was only about 5 to 10 blocks to the restaurants and shopping along the beach and in the older part of Sitges. Parking was on the street (so free) and available within a block or so. The room was small but clean. The service, however, was lacking. We arrived at 8 PM and planned to dine at the hotel. They let us sit at the table for about 15 minutes before telling us that they were closing the restaurant and we needed to leave. During the day there was almost no restaurant or bar service when sitting out around the pool. The sun was warm, the pool was inviting and the lounges were comfortable, however. This was a very reasonably priced hotel, so I would stay again.

A 15 mn de marche du centre, hotel tout à fait correct, bon service, prestation petit déjeuner très satisfaisante (orange pressée). SPA non utilisé. Accueil très satisfaisant. A découvrir en été
