We found everything at this hotel first class. Staff was exceptional. Our only difficulties were the technology in the room itself. Twice we had to get techs up just to get all of the ambient lighting turned off, and even after that, it was hit
I was also slightly uncomfortable with the (saluting?) of the staff. I understand the gesture but to me a salutation is more than enough.
Generally, I really liked the hotel. The hotel is high quality but at the same time not stuffy. The staff was very helpful and enthusiastic.
The rooms also were very nice -- starting with the front door to each which had a painting from a local
artist (reproductions of various masters).
There were a couple of minor things that I did not like so much. Health club: really pretty poor for a 5 star hotel. Breakfast Area: very open to the lobby and therefore cold (maybe in the summer too hot -- not sure).
The location is nice, particularly if you are driving. The hotel is at the edge of the old city so it both be easily accessed by road but also reasonably close to most historic/dining options.
Lastly, we got a reasonable price for rooms. Overall: Good value.
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Short walk from hotel
Things not in most guide books -- if you happen to be at the hotel around Christmas/New Year, the light show at the City Hall is truly spectacular.
This is an excellent hotel. All staff were extremely friendly, warm and helpful. Was given a little tour of the hotel as my room wasn't ready yet, you can exchange money at the reception, get stamps for your postcards etc. Service was outstanding.
All staff greet you whenever they see you and always offer to help. The interior design of the hotel is beautiful and very unique. Rooms were clean, there is a nice bar, lobby and roof terrace. Food ordered via room service was first class - wish there was more choice on the menu though. Hotel centrally located and in a safe area - you can easily walk to the Cathedral and Real Alcazar. Plaza de Espana is a bit further away but can still be reached by foot. All shops were close by and there were lots of places to have nice Spanish tapas. Had a nice view of colourful roofs of an old church and the church bells didn't really bother me (they stop after 9pm I think). Loved the themed floors by Spanish artists. Wish they offered the spa services earlier in the morning or late in the evening, as I would have taken advantage of it before or after sightseeing. Would highly recommend this hotel and I had a very enjoyable stay.
