Among the religious buildings of Santo Domingo, the convent of Saint Francis stands out, reconstructed according to a project by Juan de Herrera under the request of Bernardo de Fresneda (Archibishop of Zaragoza and confessor of King Philip II). It smooth outer facades together with its soft and harmonious architectural interior, convey a feeling of tranquility and peace. In order to magnify the convent's architecture, the common areas have been specially featured, mostly the central patio, where, under its cupola, the hotel may find the restaurant and the social lounge. Warm red and blue-grayish tonalities decorate the rooms, with oil paintings depicting religious imagery as well as modern graphic artist piede.
