The Hotel Coliseum is well known for its unusual facade and its modern facilities. Add to this a privileged location in the cent-re of Santander, a few meters away from the avenue that links the city's historic and business cent-re with the Plaza Italian, a square that in summer becomes the focus of Santander life. Both business guests and tourists wanting to enjoy visiting the city will find the Hotel Silken Coliseum an excellent choice. The hotel's 92 rooms with their contemporary design place particular emphasis on lighting, textures and furnishings, offering maximum comfort and a serene and elegant atmosphere and with Free wi-fi. In the "La Platea" restaurant you can discover the excellence of Cantabrian cuisine, and other facilities include the " Bambalinas" cafe and the private garage. The five reception rooms can accommodate up to 200 guests, and their decor and comprehensive audiovisual resources make them ideal for holding events of all kinds.

Business Crash Pad

I stayed two nights at this hotel while on business in the area. The hotel is modern, clean and quite luxurious in it's feel. It's close to the airport and in a good downtown area to be able to walk around and explore the town, close to lots of restaurants and shops. Check-in was a breeze, the guy on reception was really helpful and had good local knowledge and was able to recommend places to eat. The rooms were a little small, but well appointed. They weren't cramped, just not spacious. The beds are quite firm, which might not suit everyone. Breakfast was continental style, as expected, and pretty much on par with other hotels I've been to in Europe. Checking out (very early!) was quick and easy and I was ordered a taxi which arrived in minutes.

5 star treatment

This hotel was the first leg of our tour of Northern Spain. The hotel is very central for shops, restaurants and bars but a enjoyable walk to the beach. Not too far from the bus or train station to continue our journey. Very welcoming receptionists and staff. Very clean and comfortable room. Highly recommended and would stay here again.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

Use the sight seeing bus. General transport to the beach etc was very busy especially at the weekend. hop on and off the tourist bus to see all the main sights and it stops at the beach too.
