Good Value
Very friendly staff While it is not a 5 star hotel and not in a central area, it is a very good value quality hotel. Walking distance to the beach and short cab ride to city central.

Nice, clean hotel off the beaten path
This was a nice clean hotel where the staff was immensely friendly and helpful. It was clean, with a large room in a nice quiet neighborhood off the beaten path and somewhat far from the old town. Nonetheless, I would stat their again. If you are an American, and you love a good air conditioner, this may not be the place for you because, even thought the air conditioner was new (like the hotel) it barely worked. Nonetheless, that appers to the status quo in Europe.

A pleasant surprise
The location is located in a very beautiful residential area. It is fine for business traveller but not well suited for tourists. You must take cab, bus, or your own vehicle to get around. San Sebastian is great so this is a minor inconvenience. The staff are friendly and courteous. The restaurant is OK but not exceptional and the bar/lounge about a 4 on a scale of 10.

Brooklynites love it
My Husband and I are on our Honeymoon and have been road tripping around Europe. We've stayed in a lot of different hotels and locations on this trip and we loved this hotel. The location is fantastic. The beach is just 4 or 5 blocks away and for people who live in a walking city like us, it was so easy to get to. Also the area the hotel is located in isn't loud and crazy. There are cafes and pharmacies all around to take care of any coffee or toiletry needs. The hotel itself was modern and inviting and the staff was very friendly and accommodating, even though my husband and I only speak broken spanish with bad accents we found it easy to communicate with everyone. My only caution is that unlike NY most services in San Sebation do not work on Sunday that includes the hotel laundry service and all pharmacies.

Try the vinoteca across the street from the hotel. Great Basque food and a dinner you will remember for the rest of your life.

Very nice hotel, good location
Very nice hotel, good location a little bit off in a good way, near the sea and another part of town. Good atmosphere and very good resturant. Not cheap but worth it.

Study Abroad Dad from SC
A Snowy Night at the NH Aranzazu
Wintery Europe. Flight from Madrid to San Sebastian cancelled. Flew to Bilbao and rode a bus across. A long day, but smiles and attentive staff at the Aranzazu ended a long day on a high note. Merluza dinner in the resturant was wonderful. Hot and tasty. The reception staff bent over backwards to help. A little bit of a language barrier, but we worked it through. The receptionist walked to the Taxi stand to hail a cab for me when the Taxi office would not pick up the phone. Now is that service or what? A comfortable, centrally located, down right nice place to stay.

Long walk from hotel
Old town is a bit of a walk, but a very pretty walk along the beach area and bay. Plan for at least a 30 minute briskly paced walk to the old town areas.
