The Hotel is Beautiful with great history in a perfect location. We were put in a small, dark room on the 1st floor, and requested an immediate change, and were moved to a much nicer room with a view on the 2nd floor. The rooms are nicely
appointed. The biggest criticism is that they are severely understaffed, and guests are not only kept waiting, but not shown to their rooms and no assistance with luggage. For this class of hotel it is unheard of, I think. The garage is frightening, and we had to park ourselves as well and at a big cost (for Spain). Salamanca rocks though, and you are close to everything here. The location can't be better. Tip: Make sure to request 2nd floor room overlooking Monastery.
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Short walk from hotel
Look for hand crafted jewelry in the area. This is an artsy town with many beautiful, original pieces to buy :)
The staff was fantastic with a very personal touch despite being overworked. These people will try their best to do anything for you. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who has trouble walking or climbing steps. There are about ten rather
large and steep steps into the hotel. When I asked about this concerning the disabled, she said the Salamanca monument committee would not let the hotel make changes to accommodate them, because it would destroy the original structure
