Girls Holiday

After booking this hotel based on previous reviews I had expected more, the location is not bad and is about 10/15 min walk from the main area. We had booked two rooms which were booked together however were on opposite ends of the hotel. One room was ready on check in however the other required an extra bed did not have one in there although this was requested prior to book in and also when we checked in. The hotel staff are pretty unhelpful, the phones in the room had no instructions and so would have to walk to the front desk for any information. There were no english channels on the TV which i find strange has there are alot of tourists from the UK who I would expect stay at this hotel. The floor was dirty and didn't seem to be cleaned. All in all very disappointed in the hotel and would not stay here again and would also think twice about booking a Melia hotel in any other destination if these are the standards set.

shame about the unusual weather

I read reviews about surly staff before i booked this hotel. Probably one word to describe some of the less smiley male staff but they were smart, efficient, polite possibly just a little too formal. Yet the the female personnel in all departments gave excellent service, superb customer recognition when passing guests anywhere in the hotel and close attention to customer service. There is an air of formality that comes across from the male staff, almost as if they have been trained to do so to limit any familiarity. This hotel was excellent value for money and well situated for a short stroll into the port. there is a walk way all the way along the beach to Marbella that is great for exercise, running etc; Very good breakfast with everything hot, fresh and tempting. You name it and it was probably there. I didn't see porridge but then again I didn't ask either. a superb selection was also available at dinner but I did think E29.50 was a bit steep for a buffet

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Low season meal offers in the port are excellent value at E15.00 and E18.50 but be prepared to pay a 2.50 cover charge that brings lovely warm bread and a pre starter of hot soup.

Fantastic hotel

From the moment we arrived we were greeted by numerous staff who were more than helpful and friendly. They gave us a luxury room with free access to the VIP room where we received complimentary food and drink. The staff were more than helpful when booking reservation for multiple restaurants. Overall a fantastic hotel which resulted in a fantastic experience. Would definitely recommend this and will definitely be returning.
