Great Value

There are some earlier reviews suggesting problems. Although this appears to have been developed as a high end large hotel (the reality of Spanish over-development) , it is operating as an short stay apartment and is rather empty. When I checked in during late evening, the security man in front had my reservation and room key at the ready. And yes, the main office is tucked away on the 1st floor. But the confusion was only slight, and I was rewarded with a high value room for the money. For those aware of general conditions all over Spain, this should not be too difficult to figure out or be much of an issue.

Staff on reception don't know what they are doing.

We attended this property to be told by a scruffy looking member of staff with a thick grey jumper on that we had no room booking there and we were at the wrong hotel. The young girl then printed out directions to the other Gualadpin Hotel and we left. On attendance at the other hotel (Guadalpin Mystral Beach) we were told we had no reservation there also! (the staff were a lot more professional in there presentation.) We later discovered a full room charge for a "NO SHOW" at the Guadalpin apartments we attended first! The receptionist now states we did not turn up t the 1st property! I await a response from the manager with my CCTV proof of attendance to update my review further.

great family get together

The apartments at the guadalpin are just beautiful, spacious, and with everything that the tourist needs. Great location, aircon, spacious balconies and lovely furniture. But most importantly the charge is so very reasonable. Best value in Marbella at the moment!!! Just one little note though: the reception does not appear to be open at the entrance, you have to go to the 1st floor and a room is alloocated there for queries etc, and very few staff speak English. This should be addressed, as everything else is a seller.

luxury value

We was pleasantly surprised with how lovely our room was, after reading some not great reviews after we booked we were nervous about what to expect. Our room was spotless clean and large. The hotel had security and a large swimming pool but all the bars and restaurants were closed, as long as you know that before you book you will be fine. There are 2 supermarkets within a 3 minute walk and the beach about 5 minutes. We would definitely return here, a taxi to Puerto banus is approx 8 minutes and average 11 Euros. The concierge do not speak English however you are provided with a number to call if you do need any help.

Entertainment tip: Short drive from hotel

Ocean club is a must, recommend emailing them before you travel to reserve a bed, payment is needed upfront but it was the highlight of our holiday

TERRIBLE AND MISLEADING

Since the Guadalpin is or was a hotel i was not prepared for the awful experience which led me to cancel the booking on arrival and find alternative accommodation on saturday March 23rd. Front desk was manned by one person who spoke no English. There was no security, no pool , no bar, no restaurant. It was a shell of a building with locked doors and no facilities. I would question the safety of this hotel in terms of fire and personal safety. It was an intimidating and uncomfortable environment. The room smelled heavily of smoke. The presentation of this accommodation is misleading and wholly unsatisfactory. It does not state that there are no facilities and it should make it clear that it is not a hotel. I was refused a refund.
