I would like to preface this review with the knowledge that I have stayed in well over fifty different hotels in my lifetime, all over the world. Everything from simple lodges in the Himalayas to the luxury hotels in Europe.
Never have I stayed a
place as unpleasant as Potent Playa. Something that no previous reviewer mentioned was the concert with poor michael jackson imitators that blares every single night until 12am. Nor did anyone mention that the sheets on the bed are the same fabric as the curtains. The food quality in the included meals is a bit like a free sample tour of a cat food factory. Everything in the bathroom is moldy or broken. The switch to turn the water from the tap to the showerhead broke, as did the piece to flush the toilet, the entire bathroom leaked.
Now don't get me wrong, I wasn't expecting a brilliant hotel, but I spent close to 1200 euros for 6 nights, which is a reasonable sum of money.
Upon checkin they tried to throw in different offers such as free food, free parking etc if I would move down the street to another hotel for a couple of nights... this didn't seem very kosher, nor good practice for a hotel, particularly when the guest is just trying to check in at 11pm.
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Drive to more secluded beaches, the one outside the hotel is crowded and dirty.
