Good Value and Perfect Location

This hotel has awesome central location, nice rooms, very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are a bit on smaller side and our "queen" bed was just two twin beds put together. However, we weren't in the hotel much, so it did not matter. Highly recommended!

Petit Palace Plaza Rocks!

The Petit Palace Plaza was great for two Americans who speak limited Spanish and who did not want to rent a car! The hotel was updated on the inside about 2 years ago to be a technically modern hotel. Our room had a computer which we used to help locate information on the internet and stay in touch with email, facebook, family, friends back home, etc. The outside had the look and feel of an old red Spanish Andalucian palace. The hotel is small, clean and centrally located in the heart of Old Malaga. The taxi ride from the airport was about 15 mins and literally dropped us off on the square at Calle Marques Lario. This is an Excellent location for shopping, dining and walking to all the local sites. The Picasso Museum, Castillo de Gibralfaro, the Alcazaba Teatro Romano, Plaza de Toros and the Cathedral "La Manquita" which we could see from our balacony window, were all within 5-10 mins walking distance of the hotel. The staff spoke perfect English and was very friendly. The buffet breakfast was the best desayuno we had in Spain. We would definitely stay here again. Our only fear is that with the more attention this hotel receives the less likely it will be available in the future. The only things missing were a pool (this was not a requirement for us) and an ice machine, but the staff did provide ice upon request. The only warning? This location is a little noisy on Friday and Saturday nights due to the many tapas bars in the area and the fact that the Spanish people eat dinner later (9pm to 12am). The locatin was worth the noise.

Good location, don't try to drive.

Interesting building, historic exterior, ultra-modern new interior. Helpful staff. Rooms clean but small. Easy access to historic old town attractions, resturants, shopping, churches. Descriptions of the hotel neglect to mention that you can't drive anywhere close to the hotel - historic area where its located is all walking - you have to park in a garage several blocks away and schlep your bags quite a ways.

Excellent location, very helpful staff

I have nothing but praise for the location, decor, helpful staff, onsite breakfast, in room laptop with internet access. The only minor negative comment is the bed mattresses would slid around on the bed frame. I would highly recommend this hotel. Other comments complained about lack of parking but we didn't have a car and could very comfortably walk everywhere we needed to go in town. We took the bus to go to a neighboring town for 5 Euros.

Kohtuullinen majapaikka

Hotelli on historiallisessa keskustasssa hyvällä paikalla.

Rauhallinen majapaikka keskellä vanhaa kaupunkia

Kannattaa katsoa sijainti kartalta etukäteen. Taksit eivät pääse aivan perille ja vaikka käveltävää on Plaza de Constitucionin poikki vähän, kuja voi jäädä huomaamatta.

Loistohotelli kaupunkilomalaiselle!

Erittäin siisti ja mukava hotelli heti "ydinkeskustassa" Vietettiin tammikuussa 2013 viikko hotellissa, ei käyty aamupalalla mutta lähellä olevat palvelut pitivät niistäkin huolta. Erittäin hyvä hotelli kaupunkilomalle pyrkivälle. Lähellä nähtävyyksiä ja näkemistä yllinkyllin. Linnotukset, rannat, satama jnejne. Kauppoja on heti nurkilla kymmenittäin. samoin isompia ja pienempiä syömäpaikkoja.

Lukuisia shoppailupaikkoja heti välittömästi hotellin vieressä. Kauppahalli on myös hyvä paikka saada kaikkea tuoretta syömistä :)

Petit Palace - excellent location!

Location-wise, you cannot get much better than this! Shops, restaurants, bars, sights right there. Free internet in all rooms! But bring your own laptop and ask for the password at the reception - even though all the rooms have a laptop all ready, hooked through cable, they are slower than the WiFi. Beds are a bit hard for those of us who like soft mattresses, but my experience is that particularly Europeans like their mattresses harder than say, Americans do. Be sure to contact the hotel about your preferences: we requested rooms with a shower instead of bath tub, one smoking room and one non-smoking, one for mobility difficulties and one regular, and both rooms were very nice. Those in wheelchairs etc. should have no trouble with his hotel, if they make sure they get the right type of a room. Maybe it was the time of yer (January) that the staff were extremely helpful and could get us any type of a room, but we very much appreciated their helpfulness! Our reservations didn't include breakfast ... it was 8 euros extra per person per morning. See if you really want to spend that money. We paid for breakfast most of the days, and it's not bad at all (lacking,as usual in Spain, fresh veggies like cucumber slices, tomato slices, etc), but unless you're really hungry in the mornings, you may just want to go around the corner to get a cup of coffee and maybe something little with it. Other than during breakfast hours, there's free coffee, tea, and even juices, a bit up the stairs directly from the front entrance. This is great! And makes me think, why use the mini-bar when you have to pay? I always much prefer an empty mini-refrigerator where we can bring our own drinks and cheeses etc. We took a taxi to this hotel from the airport, and one back to the airport - paid about 25 euros including tip with a lot of luggage. The taxi cannot get right to the front door, but it gets close enough at the Plaza de la Constitucion - only about 50 meters to he door of the hotel. Each time, our taxi drivers were very helpful with our luggage. And without steps to climb, the meters didn't seem much at all. All in all, although not perfect, I will definitely stay in this hotel again in Malaga.
