Great Break
We had a great stay in the Tryp Ambassador. Hotel spotless through out and the attention to detail was second to none, flowers in reception just one example. Hotel is close to centre but away form the busy streets so it has the best of both. Breakfast in the hotel was beautiful. Staff very helpful and obliging. Madrid is a beautiful place to visit and this hotel made our stay excellent. 5 nights away felt like 10.

From the moment we entered the
From the moment we entered the Ambassador we felt welcome. Service and meals were excellent. I was pickpocketed on our arrival in Madrid and the staff at the hotel were wonderful to me, offering support and assisting with the language difficulties I was experiencing. Had we not been staying with such lovely staff I would not have wanted to stay in Madrid. My husband and I found this hotel one of the nicest we have stayed in and they made our Madrid visit one to remember. Thankyou.

This was a grand hotel a little
This was a grand hotel a little while back and is in need of a good freshen up. That is not to say we were unhappy; the location is superb, our room was large and clean, the breakfast was good and the staff could not be more helpful.

A very comfortable hotel located
A very comfortable hotel located in a quiet area in the old part of Madrid within easy walking distance to the tour bus departure point, Grand Via, walking malls and many eating places. The discounted breakfast (12E) offered on check in was excellent. Luggage was stored free of charge while we were away on tour. Complimentary tea/coffee not available to guests and was a bit expensive in the hotel cafe.

I was pleasantly surprised to
I was pleasantly surprised to be honest. Being off Gran Via, it was not as noisey as usual and enabled me to get a good nights sleep. The room was very impressive, although I accept the bathroom was dated it was not a problem. The location was excellent, 5 minutes walk from the palace, Sol and Gran Via, a real find for me and a hotel I have already recommended to several friends and one I will definately be using in the future.

Great Hotel, Great Location
The hotel is a classic in the heart of downtown Madrid, near the Teatro Real. I had lived a few blocks away when I was a student, so it was great to be back in my old neighborhood. I also planned to go to the opera while there (and in fact did so), so it was a matter of a two-block walk to get to the performance. There are two nearby Metro stations (Opera and Santo Domingo), which made getting around for all of my activities in Madrid extremely easy.

There are many good restaurants within easy walking distance and the menu of the day is a great way to try a variety of dishes at a very reasonable price.

Perfect location!
Located between two metro stops, two blocks from a pedestrian zone, or the Royal Palace, or the Grand Via. The hotel staff was kind, the rooms were clean and comfortable, with a nice safe in the room! The piped in music was a nice touch...

Great Place, Perfect location
If you are looking for a clean, safe, reasonably priced, comfortable hotel in a perfect location to see Madrid than this is the place for you. The hotel is less than a five minute walk from two metro stations (Opera & Santa Domingo). It is situated in the historic section of "Old Madrid." Many major sites are less than a 10 minute walk from the hotel. My family found the hotel room to be very comfortable. We did not eat breakfast in the hotel because it was so expensive, but there were three McDonalds, a Starbucks, and many cafe's within a short walk. I would stay here again.

Not Applicable
The hotel has several day trip options they can help you book with very short notice. We booked at 2100 for a trip that left at 0900 the next day. No issues. Go to Toledo. It is amazing. We did the half day trip. I would recommend the full day trip.

Perfect in everyway!,
This hotel is everything it says it is. From entering when you arrive, to the personnel at the desk, who are so willing to help. The "standard" room was awesome, so imagine how the upgrades are. They upsold us the breakfast the following day for a discount. Breakfast was Awesome, we couldn't have eaten anywhere else for the price. Location was perfect. Thank you for a fabulous stay. :) we will see you again.

Very Nice
This is an older hotel, showing some wear-&-tear, but spotless and well kept. Desk and room staff were very personable and helpful. Excellent location near the Madrid Opera House, interesting shopping areas and metro stations.

We discovered a local vendors food-hall & market about four blocks from the hotel, the Mercado de San Miguel on the Plaza de San Miguel, just off Calle Mayor. There's an internet video of it at http://11870.com/pro/mercado-san-miguel/page2.
