Petit Palace San Bernardo Hotel

The staff is very nice and likeable. The hotel itself is hyped as high-tech but half the stuff didn't work. The phrase most used by us was "no funciona" (it doesn't work). In our room, the super-duper shower didn't work, the regular shower stopped working if you touched the faucet the wrong way. In our daughter's room, the computer didn't connect to the internet (remember, "high tech"), the phone was working half the time, and in both rooms calling to a cell phone was blocked. We appreciated the energy-saving measures in the room, but the tiny hallway turned pitch-black if no movement was detected for 5 secs.

This hotel could not be better situated in Madrid. All of the sights you want to see are within reasonable walking distance. It is tucked away around a corner which means it is quiet at night for a good night's sleep. The room itself is modern/utilitarian, and comes equipped with a laptop so you have internet access. The mattresses are firm enough, but there isn't a lot of room to move around. There is a desk and chair, but no place to just sit and relax. We didn't partake of the restaurant, so I don't know how it is. Under our Orbitz booking, we were supposed to get a bottle of wine, but didn't. And be careful when you shower because it's nearly impossible not to have the bathroom floor get soaked.

excellent hotel and central location

The room wasn't clean, trash from the previous guest was still, there, staff didn't respond well, internect image was miss leading, showed everything being larger, rooms with robes, but none at all, sheets were not changes at all, totally dissappointed with this hotel

Great location, less than a minute walk to the metro stop (Plaza St Domingo) and very close to the Grand Via which has lots of shops. The room was a good size when considering the size of hotel bedrooms in most European cites. Excellent bathroom and shower. The staff are friendly and courteous and I arrived at 10 am and they allowed me to check in early. The only draw-back was the footpath outside the hotel was being rebuilt and therefore there was a lot of noise from 7am-6 pm. The breakfast at the hotel was a little pricey (12 Euros) but was very nice, lots of fresh fruit and a good variety. Overall it was good value for money and I would stay there again.

入口は小さく目立たないが、とても清潔感のある、新しいホテルでした。スタッフはみな若く、とても親切です。夜中までかなり賑やかなエリアですが、遅くなると（12時過ぎ？）インターホンを押さなければ自動ドアが開かないので（毎日ではないですが…）とても安全だと感じました。通りに面した部屋だと若干うるさいかもしれませんが、夜まで外出している人は気にならないでしょう。機能的でとても良いホテルだと思います。PC付きの部屋でしたが、ちょっと動作が遅かったですが観光の調べもの程度ならば問題ないと思います。地下鉄の も目の前ですし、スーパーやバルも近いのでとても便利でした。個人的には予想以上でした。
