We found the Petit Palace Londres
We found the Petit Palace Londres to be absolutely charming. The room and bathroom were really spacious and the position was excellent. We were welcomed with complimentary champagne and we would definitely go back.

location and hotel fab - close
location and hotel fab - close enough to walk everywhere but quiet enough to get some sleep! didn't have breakfast - there's loads of places nearby. had a room with a small balcony which meant i could leave the windows open and hear the music from the street below. I recommend staying here

Absolutely perfect tourist location.
Absolutely perfect tourist location. The hotel room was small and overlooked the very busy shopping street with constant activity and music from buskers playing. Not a problem because the glassed doors to the balcony were double glazed and the sound was not noticable when closed. Appeciated the free internet through the available laptop in the room.

Nice Features
We were only there for one night. We booked a 4-person room but only 2 of us stayed there. I'm glad the other 2 weren't with us because it would have been a really tight squeeze. There were two bunk beds available for the other two. The hotel is located on a busy pedestrian shopping street, with Zara's downstairs. It's really close to a lot of things including the Palace, the main square, and tons of restaurants and shopping. Outside our balcony, there was a guy who would come by and serenade from time to time. Don't worry, even on a Friday night, it wasn't too noisy when it came time to go to sleep to catch our early morning flight.

Unbeatable location for the price
Couldn't ask for a better location. Staff responded promptly when we pointed out that top bunk bed was not clean...It would be helpful if there is a list of recommended good restaurants at reasonable prices... The one thing we didn't like is the cigarette smoke smell in the lobby and everywhere in Spain.

Couldn't ask for more perfect location
Although there are many Petit Palaces sprinkled through historical Madrid, after walking around, this was by far the most conveniently located - to affordable shopping (including the supermercato in the basement of the dept store El Corte Ingles), most visited sights (less than 20 min walk East to museums, South to Plaza Mayor, West a little further to Palace) and to great affordable restaurants. Convenient to have free high speed laptop in room. Only one other comment about room - lights and shower doors are delicately constructed.

Great Location!
We had a wonderful time at this really perfectly located hotel. The staff was helpful and friendly, even allowing us to stay in our room an extra evening at the same cost. When we got there was a computer with internet access in the room, two bottles of Spanish champagne compliments of the house and we had three balconies that looked out over one of the most lively streets in town (right off of the Puerto del Sol). It was less than a minute walk from the Sol metro stop and in walking distance to Plaza Mayor and Palacio Real.

central location
The hotel was clean, fairly quiet, and acceptable in all categories. It wasn't special in any particular way, but it was a comfortable size (for one), good lighting, and very clean. The bathroom was the most spacious part. I had intermittent trouble getting connected to the WiFi with my own computer, and the computer in the room wasn't able to get on the internet at all (probably a bad cable), but the front desk was not able to supply me with another cable. All staff at the front desk seemed to speak English well. Breakfast was not included. You could buy it but it was expensive. It's very easy to pick up breakfast for a few euros in the neighborhood. The location is very good. A short walk to lots of restaurants, a short walk to the museum area, and a short walk up to the Gran Via and to the Palacio Real side of town. It's right next to a Metro stop too.

Great shopping location
I really liked staying at this hotel mostly because it felt as though I was staying in a mall. In other words, you step outside the hotel and you are surrounded by shops, including the mall El Corte Ingles and several shoe and jewelry stores. Two short blocks away, you have the Plaza Puerta del Sol which is where the Metro is located. As far as the room is concerned, it had a nice shower and the bed was comfortable. Someone commented that the bathroom smelled liked sewage, which I noticed, though it was faint and only near the toilet. The walls are thin, but I knew this before I arrived, so I came prepared with earplugs, which helped me sleep peacefully. I really liked having a computer in the room with free internet, but I was annoyed when I found that I had to sign-in to the free wi-fi over and over again because it kicks you off after a short period of inactivity. Some of you may want to know that the selection of channels in English is almost nonexistent. The only thing we found tolerable to watch was the excellent selection of music videos. Overall, I would stay at this hotel again in the future.
