The Argueta's
Nice hote and nice ubication
This hotel is well located, their staff is very nice, the rooms are very clean, there are lots of restaurants around the area where you can eat good food at a reasonable price. You can walk to the Royal Palace, it is only about 5-10 minutes walking, the Madrid Cathedral is also beside the Royal Palace. The Plaza de España is right there around corner. I recommend not to eat breakfast at the hotel, you are better off going to a VIPs restaurant around the corner where you can eat breakfast for less than 5 euros while in the hotel they would charge you 15 euros each. I absolutely recommend this hotel and definitely will stay again if I ever visit Madrid again.

Mercure Plaza de Espana
Spotlessly clean, quiet as can be, comfortable bed, a 3-4 minute walk from the Ventura Rodriguez Metro stop, and 15-20 minute walk to Plaza Mayor. All in all great value.

The cost of the breakfast was
The cost of the breakfast was ridiculous. We ate out. Apart from that it was what we wanted. Quiet for a city centre hotel.
