The hotel is very near IFEMA, the Madrid trade fair and exhibition centre, and the Parque Juan Carlos I. Ten minutes from the airport and from the Chamartín train station. Fifteen minutes from the Atocha train station. Near several important shopping and business areas a just a short distance from the Olivar de la Hinojosa golf course.
The Hotel Meliá Avenida América has been fully renovated in 2009 and provides 322 modern rooms, all outward facing and with abundant natural light. Now is the time to enjoy them. A sensation of peace and quiet and the freedom of space allow you to dream of rest and relaxation.

Good hotel for business
This is a very comfortable and modern hotel located between the airport and city center. I liked the convenient location. It is not city center and for tourism you might want to find something more central or located near the subway, but for late airport arrival or departure it is a great hotel. Rooms are comfortable, wireless internet is free throughout the hotel and is fast. They have a free shuttle to the airport. Breakfast was not included for me with the Orbitz rate, but the gigantic buffet is well worth the 12 Euros.

Nice hotel in the corporate district
There are several large businesses near this hotel (such as 3M) so it could be that they primarily cater to business travelers. We were traveling on vacation and it was just as nice. The hotel shuttle didn't show up so the front desk paid the 10 euros for us to take a cab to the airport -very nice.

Short walk from hotel
Turn right out of the hotel and then left at the roundabout and continue on that road (that curves right) about 10-15 min for some alternate drinking and dining in Madrid as the hotel bar & restaurant are pricey.

The room was very clean and confortable. Free airport shuttle ,very good buffet breakfast and free wi-fi in the rooms. There is a bus stop near to the hotel or you can walk about 15 min in order to take the metro.(the cost for the bus or the metro is 1 EURO).

I enjoyed very much the stay at a fantastic price. A big and very comfortable room! A very good breakfast that was included in the price! The hotel locations is not the best but there are frequent bus (146) to downtown (Callao) but a not so frequent hotel transfer bus to airport. My next stay at Madrid will be here, if I get the same price!

Great Hotel!
I needed a hotel near the airport for an early morning flight back to the States. They have a free shuttle service from and to the airport every 30 minutes; it worked out wonderfully! The buffet breakfast was excellent (they had all kinds of pastries, cold cuts, eggs, bacon, ham.....)the room was spacious, clean and modern and of course, the staff was very pleasant! Overall, my stay was great. I will be using this hotel every time I'm in Madrid!!!! Good Job!

We have been waiting 40 min for a shuttle bus. The receptionist after our arrival was unhelpful. When asked about possibility of the breakfast box ( we had to leave the hotel at 7 am next day) she said that it s not a 5 star hotel therefore she is not obliged to provide special arrangements. The dinner in the restauarant was not really tasty. The room we had on the 5th floor was tiny but clean. However it was stinky in the bathroom.MOrover it is not really that close to the airport, certainly there are better hottels offering both better price and service. I will never come back to this hotel...

The staff was friendly and professional but the did not cater for modern traveller accessories for non-Europeans ie 110 volts connections for phones, laptops, etc

The Service from the staff was
The Service from the staff was awful, staff would rather chat to each other than serve you. I was refused entrance in to the resteraunt because i wore shorts ( not the sport/swim type ) it was completley empty and at any one time there was a maximum of about eight people in the bar, it seems even locals will not use it. 1/2 a pint of larger was £4.25. to park 2 motorcycles ( that take up just 1 car space ) cost 21 euro each. Don't be fooled by the £56 a night price, once you add it up it is a very expensive stay. Due to its location you are limited to other places where you can eat, a meal for 2 in a nearby hotel cost nearly £90.
