Web site misleading

Do not book this hotel if you want outdoor space and a gym. The web site describes the roof top terrace being the place to go in the evening (which it is ) however ii is not open during the day, so guests have no terrace facilities to chill out during the day. The web site explains that guests can use the gym facilities at the spa next door. There is a €12 charge per visit, again not on the web site. The hotel is in an amazing location, perfect for walking about Madrid and for bars in the evening. It is extremely trendy, and you get complimentary nespresso which is a nice touch. I upgraded to a room with a terrace space, so in the end I paid more to stay here than hotels with a rooftop pool. For the amount I paid I could have stayed at the Urban which has better facilities.

Perfect location for a quick Madrid get away.

My spouse and I stayed at this hotel for the second time in February 2014. The hotel is perfectly located within walking distance of most major attractions and dozens of restaurants. The staff are friendly and helpful. It's definitely worth booking a "Mode Room" which is a bit larger and has a wonderful view of the square outside. The only minor inconvenience was that the fitness center was being renovated during our stay.

Horrible, disappointed and mistrust service.

After visiting some hotels, we decided to celebrate our wedding, which will be taken in June 2014, on the Me Madrid Hotel´s Roof, because the sights and the hotel prestige made us believe that hotel would provide us service as good as our wedding celebration would deserve. It happened in the other way around. When we finally decided to celebrate our wedding at the hotel, in March 2013, they pushed hardly to book the roof and give some money for it, even though the date they offered us didn´t fit us as we expected. After this, we had to go five different times to speak to 5 different customer support hotel employees to explain the same thing we were discussing at the beginning when we went for the first time, to finally ended up all the details before the summer 2013, just 1 year before the wedding begins. In November 2013, just 6 months before the event to start, we received a call from the hotel to ask us for coming over to speak to them. What was our surprise when we saw that the space we had booked and paid for it has been changed. The hotel had modified the whole roof without noticing us anything and they had changed all the agreement contract we had signed. After dealing with them and explained that they had changed everything just 6 month before the wedding and we could not change anything with this such short time ahead, they offered us a downgrade deal for the same money, smaller space to celebrate the wedding, space without exclusivity, or a discount for this downgrade.

A very nice Boutiqe hotel. You can't beat the location - Plaza Santa Ana is a lovely square and is right next to a great area for nightlife as well as being close to major attractions. The hotel is very pleasant. Nice rooms although small.

Great hotel, nice amenities and good staff

My second time at Reina Victoria. Hip hotel with a central location, nice rooms and good service. Rooms and facilities are well maintained with a young and eager staff. Spa facilities although good are only accessible via the street without direct access from the hotel. Reception staff is very helpful.

very good choice

very good location, very nice staff. highly recommend it. There are a lots of nice food choices around. Very short walk- 7-8min to mercado, where you will have a great variety of food. Taxi is not a problem during the stay, there is always one in front of the hotel. The lifts were a bit slow and you had to wait although there were four of them...

rated too high

The hallways smelled bad. The rooms are barely big enough for the bed, there were no drawers to place clothes and the staff were very friendly but limited. I have stayed at many hotels, and this is definitely not a 4.5 star. I know for a fact that I overpaid. Thru other venues I could have gotten a similar room for less than $100.00 thru the name your price option.

Awesome Hotel and Great Staff

I thought the hotel was awesome. At first when I got into my room, I thought it was a little small, but it proved to be the perfect size for me. The location overlooking the plaza wast worth the extra $59 I paid. The window that opened up to the plaza let in the cool air, and it was a very nice view. I could see and hear the hustle and bustle of the night crowd, but when I shut the window, it was quiet enough for me to get a good night sleep. The bed was so comfortable, I overslept and missed my flight. You cannot go wrong booking this hotel. Definately worth the money I paid. When I missed my flight, they checked my bags and I enjoyed the day. The staff was very attentive to whatever I needed and let me stay and connect to the internet all day until I got my travel info set. Thank you for a great time.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

The walk was about 50 feet out the door :-). You must do the outside dining in the plaza. Great food and great atmosphere. I was alone, but I can only imagine if I had my friends with me, it would have been 10 times better, and I had a great time alone...... Tip: If you an American, make sure you can communicate in Spanish. That will make all the difference in your stay in Spain. Madrid is not like other countries where many people speak English. I only met a few people that spoke english enough to have a conversation. I'm sure there were many, but my experience tells me next time I will learn more spanish. In regards to the Hotel, the hotel staff spoke English fine, it was the people in the city that didn't speak as much, especially the taxi drivers. The hotel staff was 100% fine speaking english... cute accent as well.
