Try the chocolate and churros just around the corner from the hotel (walking towards Gran Via)! Much better than the bigger hyped chocolate restaurant in the Sol area.

Check out the Tapas bars on the side streets to the right and left of the hotel. Look for one that has a lot of Customers. In most cases, you will be offered a small tapas with each drink ordered.

Explore the restaurants in the immediate vecinity of the hotel. Head out to the plaza from the hotel, and turn left or right, and up the two streets on either side of the hotel. You will find several wonderful eating establishments.

Good description of the Hotel
Bubogum Sep 23, 2009
The photo of the hotel front does not do it justice. It is right smack dab in the middle of everything in Madrid. We walked ... to literally half of the sites we wanted to visit. It's near some great food and shops. One of the best locations in this city that I could think of. I would and probably WILL stay here again.

Centrally Located, Quiet, & Comfortable
Tallahassee Traveller Aug 16, 2009
We stayed at the hotel for five days at the start of our trip through Spain and liked it so well we finished our trip with ... another two-day stay there. It is close to Sol, Plaza Mayor, and a Metro stop. You can easily walk to any of the major tourist attractions from the hotel. Very nice staff as well. The bathroom is a bit small, but then all of the rest we saw in Spain were not any larger!

Great hotel!
CatheyK Aug 7, 2009
The hotel was lovely. The rooms were spacious and sunny and overlook a small square. The location couldn't have been ... better. It was a block from Grand Via, a 15 minute walk from the Prado and other museums and a 20 minute walk from the Atocha Train station. Although breakfast was not included in the price, we did purchase the great breakfast buffet. The staff was courteous, the room was clean and well appointed. There is a wide range of dining options within a 1-2 block area from small tapas bars, casual sidewalk cafes to grander dining options. I would stay there again when I return to Madrid.

The hotel was a great soothing oasis from the chaos of the city. Front desk help was outstanding. With Hertz and Avis out ... of cars, we asked the hotel for help and they had us a vehicle in just a few minutes. The rooms were spotless and comfortable. For the price it was an outstanding value. we booked two rooms. one for the adulescent children and one for us.

The hotel overall is clean and enjoyable. However some small details are annoying like taking a shower and the water from the ... shower will get on the floor of the bathroom because of the semi glass doors that allow leakage, and the floor mat will totally get drenched with water.no extra toilet paper roll is left in the bathroom. The sink though clean but too high.and no ceiling vent in bathroom.mirrors will get foggy.these are little details but the hotel has many good pluses.a nice ambience at the entry, comfortable seating area near the bar, free internet, lots of news papers(spanish and english).great and enjoyable variety of breakfast buffet style. But usually not included in price of hotel.in summary a good hotel.

A True Gem
Spanish Traveler May 28, 2009
This hotel was a real find. Close to the heart of historic Madrid, within walking distance of the hustle and bustle of both ... Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol, but located on a quiet plaza. The building is beautifully renovated. The only down side was the very small room... but if you, like us, only go back to the hotel to sleep at night... you will do fine. Great lobby with free wi-fi, and some of the best Earl Grey tea I've ever had.
