This is a classic hotel with all the amenities and level of service one would expect. The rooms were grand. The service was ... absolutely impeccable. Though the location is not close to the downtown area (Plaza del Sol, etc.) you are just few blocks away from the "Rodeo" Drive of Madrid. Absolutely love it!

If you looking for your new Loewe, Prada, C. Herera, Hermes, etc. - literally cross the street, walk two blocks - and there you are. Check out an amazing vine tasting bar next door to Hermes store....Enjoy! In case you are not an adventurous type - just ask the concierge for direction.

the room was too small. we could not open the drapes due to all the across windowes are looking into our room. I do like a ... bright room with no drapes. I asked to change our room. the answer was no.

Good Memories Aug 7, 2009
My boyfriend and I spent a week in Madrid and the staff at the Inter made it special. Rarely you'll find hotel employees who ... will go out of their way to please guests like they did. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because our room had a double bed instead of queen or king. The hotel is quite beautiful, old European style I'd say, but with all the modern efficiencies. There's also a small gym with the basics (weights and cardio machines) It was a bit out of the way, however if you're looking for a quiet place to sleep, this is it. There's a metro station right around the corner so location (which is in the wealthy section of town) wasn't really a problem. Madrid is an amazing city with so much to offer. The museums, the food, the drinks (Spanish wine is great and so much more affordable than French or Italian - the local beer Mahou is great, and the coffee, hmmmm, delicious). We also spent a couple of days in Toledo and Segovia, much smaller towns but equally interesting and full of culture (use the AVE fast train to both - you're going to love it - and it's super affordable). I hadn't been to Madrid in 16 years and it was my boyfriend's first time. He came back highly impressed at how nice Spanish people are, especially in the small towns (he wants to go back :) Overall a great trip! Highly recommended.

Overall great business experience, great stay. Amazing beds, some of the best in the world, key for all business travelers. ... It is very convenient to be on the Ambassador program, for the additional perks and offerings, as well as free upgrades of all kinds. Perfect for business and work. Great service, very rare in spain.

Business Traveler at Madrid
Biz Traveler Jul 16, 2009
I visit Madrid often on business and this is by far the best hotel with the best value for your money. It is a business ... location. Close to absolutely everything in Madrid. Unbeatable service, which is hard to find in Spain, very comfortable infrastructure, prepared for business travelers with Wifi, Club room, meeting rooms, etc. Within walking distance of Salamanca and great restaurants. Really good concierge service. Rooms with views of Paseo Castellana have a balcony, great for a late break.

Hotel is close to many restaurants which are all great around the area called Chamberi. Some of the best include Gaston and Astrid, a peruvian fusion restaurant, Cafe Oliver for brunch, and if you get homesick Hard Rock Cafe. All walking distance.

we asked for a King. none available. they offered us a double joined together and FREE breakfast. when it was time to ... check out they claimed no info on the free breakfast and charged us nearly $350.00 USD. They said they always have problems with Orbitz and its customers. We felt betrayed. Won't go there again.

For me to make a review of this hotel is very simple , is a great establishment ,they spend a lot of money into the premises, ... and the staff has allways being very professional and eficient ,but with a good dose of kindness . Rooms are good, well lighted, services are good, the only small problem is in the F&B area, not in quality but in space, they only have one restaurant ,and for my taste they should have at least another.

My husband and I stayed at the IC madrid for a long weekend. THe hotel staff were extremely friendly, efficient and ... helpful. Especially for someone like myself, who did not speak a word of spanish. We are ambassador club members and we received a room upgrade with a beautiful large terrace in room 812. The room also included a true queen size bed, which can certainly be a luxury in europe. The room was not large by american standards, but was sufficient and clean. The bathroom did have two sinks!! The breakfast room service was lovely and the breakfast buffet was as well. The concierge staff were very helpful and gave us a business card for everything we were doing to avoid confusion aa to our destinations with the cab drivers. The rooms were quiet and the beds were comfortable. Howver, the featherbed was that for a double not a queen(but tolerable). The Bartendars were absolutely fantastic and accommadated our requests. The only drawback is that it is not in the center of the downtown area. However we did walk to those areas at least once a day, so it is tolerable. It is near upscale shopping if that is your interest.

take a day trip to toledo. A must do, but the guided tour is a little boring..we left the guide and met up with the group later. IT was in spanish and english so it took so long to get through all the desciptions. I say take the high speed train(20 minutes) yourself and tour the city on your own.
