All good city break

Clean hotel, all things worked well. Asked cleaning staff for more pillows as they were very flat. Comfortable bed, great location easy to find as you come off the metro at Callao

Ordinary and lacking in staff attitude.

The hotel was under construction so the lobby was a mess. The staff is just plain rude. They have attitude and have no graciousness. They are annoyed and abrupt by a guest question. The internet is not available in the rooms. It is only on the hotel computer in the bar that one can get service and in any case you must pay 2 Euros per half hour anywhere in the hotel.

Good location....forgetable stay

The location of the hotel is in the heart of everything you would like to see and do and Madrid. The hotel itself though is an old building with very few amenities and the service was quite poor. For the money there have to be a ton more places to stay while still being convenient. The Ayre Gran Hotel Colon is a great hotel that is in a quite area but still a short subway ride away from everything...and it's cheaper.

Good Locations, Too expensive though

Checked in at 145p. The older clerk changed my room at his whim and put me in a double instead of the original single. This room was TINY and still being cleaned and I asked to be moved back to my original room, that I never asked to be moved from! This one was better (imo). My only complaints though is the room is so expensive and you have no amenities. No Fridge, no microwave, no iron, no internet...nothing. But it is very close to the metro and in the heart of everything. It's a trade off. Would probably try somewhere different next time. A ton of hotels in the surrounding area.

Good Location, Clean & Simple

Hotel Regente is in a great location of Downtown Madrid. Its between 2 very close Metro stops and theres tons of shopping/food/bars within walking distance. My only complaint was the room felt a bit small, but that seems to be common of 3 Star or less European Hotels. The room was very clean and serviced daily. The staff was very curteous and helpful. In order to use their WiFi its 10€ per night, but honestly not worth it because the signal in the lobby is stable but anywhere else is too weak. I was able to pick off a free signal of equal strength at the cafe next door. So overall, its a good place to crash in a good location.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

El Corte Ingles, a very, very large super store is literally like 200 feet away and has everything from electronics to fresh produce in its 9 story megastore. If you get tired of the local food or shops, you can get anything you want there without leaving your street.

Madrid Hotel

The staff was very nice. Breakfest was too expensive for what it was. Rooms smelled bad like smoke. Good location in downtown Madrid, close to landmarks. There were no amenities

AMAZING LOCATION - GREAT PRICE!

The hotel staff was very helpful. We went for a few days to Madrid for sightseeing. The location was absolutely perfect. The main museums and popular places were only a short walk away (top 10-15 min). The hotel is located around Gran Via area and very close to Puerta De Sol, which is a great place for nightlife for young people who are looking to go out. Very easy to get around. Took a day trip to Toledo, also easy to get to, and explored its historical side. They have hop-on, hop-off buses, but I don't think it's necessary as everything is close by to this hotel and the metro is super easy and only 4 min walk away. Overall, hotel is in a great location and very neat and cozy rooms - not too spacious though.

good location

Good location for tourist spots. I had been to Madrid 1 other time. The hotel staff was "ok", but the air conditioning just did not keep the room cool enough, so could not sleep. Also 3 of us traveling together, the room was too small, had much better accomodations in other places for less or equal $$.
