Overall good, the devil's in the detail
not amazing, good location, good room, but no disco tickets, no breakfast info which was paid for. Bed's were terribly uncomfortable and only 1 English channel on tv, annoying.

Nightlife tip:
Short walk from hotel
If gay clubbing aim for the area called Chueca (there's a metro there also) as we spent a full evening googling for places, and it turned out alot had closed but if you get the Metro to Cheuca you'll walk onto the "gay square" which was really nice and chilled...7 days a week places are open til 2am...excellent :)

Great Location
This hotel is the best location to be in Madrid, you can walk to everyplace. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and there is breakast included. The rooms are very basic but clean, and the french doors to a balcony overlooking Sol with lounge chairs was a real bonus. I would definitely stay there again.

You get what you pay for usually
You get what you pay for usually but for this price you get a great deal. Basic accommodation but clean, super friendly staff, tv and air con in rooms. Beds not the greatest and very squeaky, but hey who the hell goes to Madrid to sleep... Fantastic location, 1 minute walk from metro station at plaza del sol which is a short walk away from chueca, bars, shops, museums etc. If you're on a limited budget I don't think you could do much better...

Good location!!
Place to stay in a low budget plan. For the price I paid it was quite good. The first day I had Wi-Fi internet, but the rest of my stay I didn't. I was told I didn't have connection because I have a Mac, but that's insane because I DID HAVE INTERNET ACCESS the first day. So, do not expect to have Wi-Fi anyway. The computers they have are old and slow. Repeat yourself: "for the price it's not bad". The building is old, which I loved. The room was clean and quite and even though I have the bathroom for myself, the shower needs to be fixed. They have a couple of cameras at the doors, which gave me peaceful dreams at night. :)

Not Applicable
Do not drink too much. Do not accept drinks from strangers and DO NOT go to stranger's homes [*]. Madrid, as in any big city can be a dangerous place to be, and more if you are a tourist.

Best central location
I really like the centrality and the secururity of the hotel. It really has all the commodities that a frugal traveler needs. It is very clean and the staff is very friendly. Perhaps it could be a little cheaper, but once again, the location makes up for everything that it may lack. The hotel is so central that I did not have to use public transportation. I could go walking to the best museums, shopping, nightlife, etc in central Madrid.
