Monasterio de San Clodio

First Hotel - Monument of Galicia, located in a Cisterciense Monastery of century XII of beautiful surroundings, with two Claustros of Baroque Renaissance style. Lived at its moment by Cistersienses monks and later Benedictine. Perfectly rehabilitated as hotel of four stars in 1999, maintains the beauty and original structure of the Monastery that has become the first Hotel Monument of Galicia. It counts the history that in the year 928 Counts Alvaro and Sabita, founded the Monastery of San Clodio. Later they yielded it at your service of the Monks of San Benito, to those who donated cattle and earth to the border of the Avia river. Because of this historical event, the existence is demonstrated, already then, of the prosperous agricultural nucleus (it cradles of the famous wine of Ribeiro).
