Quiet, lots of room!
Great staff who go out of their way to make you comfortable. Location is a little out of the mainstream, but an easy walk from the key sights. Bed was very comfortable. I'd stay there again.

getaway with friends
the staff spoke good English, were very nice and helpful. The rooms were very clean and nice. I didn't like the matress however, as it was one of those temperpedic ones, but everyone else did. The location was great, walking distance to all the sights. Very good deal.

Mediocre
We decided on the Suites Gran Via 44 after reading many positive reviews of the Granada Hotel. Unfortunately, we do not feel the same way. The positives are the location- easy to walk to wonderful parts of Granada, and the front desk staff also very helpful. But the suite was very noisy even after requesting a quiet room. The bed was small and the breakfast barely adequate; only juice, coffee or tea (we had to ask for more hot water for tea since they brought enough only for one person), a pastry and several rolls-no fruit. There is a restaurant across the street, The Druid, which was very nice for tapas or a meal.

Sightseeing tip:
Short drive from hotel
I would highly recommend going to the San Nicolas viewpoint (take the 31 bus up, $1.2 euro and much better than a taxi) and then walk down through the Albayzin. And if you plan on seeing the Alhambra, be sure to make reservations well in advance on-line or ask your hotel.

Great gem in Granada
We were traveling with our adult son (3 people in our party) and were pleasantly surprised by the size of our room (which was a large suite with a kitchen and separate bedroom), the amenities in the kitchen and the wonderful bathroom. The decorations were modern and very tasteful. The common room in the hotel basement offered a large spacious area to sit and relax, drink coffee (provided from the machine) and watch TV (or a selection of DVD's) or use the guest laptop with the internet connection. The location is also very central to most attractions (minutes walk to the Cathedral) and on a main road where catching the bus or taxi was very easy. All the rooms in this hotel are suites and have been individually decorated. We strongly recommend this hotel and will certainly stay there if we ever go back to Granada.

A gem in Granada!
Staying at the Gran Via Suites 44 was incredibly comfortable and enjoyable. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Staying there for eight nights made me wish that I could live there! Clean, spacious, and centrally-located, it was so wonderful to have a little "apartment" with all the extras. I will ONLY stay here in the future.

Be sure to visit the two monasteries that are in Granada.....so beautiful and add to one's understanding of the history of the area after seeing both La Alhambra and the Cathedral.
