The staff was helpful. The only problem was the extra charge for parking...18 euros per day but it was conveniently located across the street from the hotel. we had breakfast at the cafe on the corner of Madrid st and gran via...it was the. Best toast I've ever tasted! Fresh orange juice is a must! We had an easy time driving intro & out of the city.We walked to the cathedral for Mass and everywhere else including the Alhumbra. We were there for 3 days. Granada is a wonderful city!

Book reservations for Alhambra in advance on the Internet. make sure you buy the complete ticket for the Nasrid Palace. It was a long line to pick up tickets at 8 am for 8:30 entrance. With advanced booking and credit card with a pin, you get to go in faster,

We chose this because it is near
We chose this because it is near the train station and it was just fine. It is about 15 minutes walk to the Cathedral area but there are plenty of buses too.

Decent accommodations
Our family of four traveled through Andalusia by car and stayed 2 nights in Granada mainly to see the Alhambra. While this hotel was not close it is on a major street and relatively easy to navigate from and to. Unlike other 3-star hotels we stayed at there were no hair dryers or in-room wifi but otherwise the rooms were clean and comfortable.

Short walk from hotel
Visit the Albaycin neighborhood nearby (though a steep uphill walk)at night for spectacular views of the illuminated Alhambra.

Too dark!
The Aben Humeya was in need of a makeover. It was extremely dark and the bathrooms were in disrepair. The air conditioning was not very good. The location was a little far from the main attractions but if you don't mind walking you could get to wherever you wanted to go within about 15 minutes. The breakfast was a let down because if you didn't get there when it opened they didn't replace any of the expensive food, like cheese and fruit.
