Two-star hotel has a panoramic elevator with beautiful views

The Ipanema Park Apartments is a four-level hotel built on a hillside with beautiful views of the ocean, along with a panoramic elevator to access the different levels. Various amenities include an outdoor swimming pool, restaurant, bar/lounge, currency exchange, conference and meeting rooms, airport shuttle, private beach access, and 24-hour desk service. A pool bar serves breakfast and lunch all day, and there's a nearby golf course. A water park, tennis, mini-golf, fitness center, clubs, and restaurants can all be found in the nearby town center.

Excellent, a really good place to stay!

We were delighted with our apartment, bedroom and bathroom upstairs and kitchen/diner downstairs, and private walled-off section of terrace with fantastic view of harbour. Comfy firm beds. Very good shower. Extremely clean and well-serviced, fresh towels kept appearing, beds made up, staff all delightful and helpful. The only slight disadvantages - no air conditioning (but if you left the reflective window curtains across while you were out, it kept fairly cool inside) and the hotel is halfway up the cliff so if you don't have a hire car (which can be parked by the entrance, lots of space there except at w/ends) there's well over 100 steps to get up and down to the harbour and a 5-10 minute walk after that, to reach the beach. It kept us healthy(!) for the 1st week while we explored the local area, then we hired a car to visit the mountains.

Sightseeing tip: Not Applicable

Hire a car and drive the hairpin bends up into the mountains! Absolutely stunning views, breathtaking canyons, palm trees, cacti, brilliant walks once you're up there in the wild country. Our best walk was to Roque Nublo, and best local cuisine at a really friendly little bar-restaurant called Santiago de Tunte in the village of San Bartolomé de Tirajana.
