Excellent standard

The hotel is amazing in so many ways, but perhaps too large and impersonal. If you want anonymity it does give you that. I still got lost by the end of the week! The staff were on the whole extremely helpful, especially in reception, the main restaurant area and spa. I wasn't as keen on the waiters that served in the evening that asked my daughters for their phone numbers when we signed the bill each time for drinks. The Spa is amazing, as are the pools. The location is on the edge of town - perfect for giving you a tranquil location but only €3 taxi if you want to go to the main centre which has all the shops you could need. It is a beautiful location. The room standard is high. The grounds are impeccable and the buffet restaurant offers food to cater for most. Again, the quality is very high. The entertainment was good fun but is focussed on one main area.

Did all we wanted, relaxing close to the beach and walkway to Meloneras. Loads of food, good quality, very friendly staff. Only downside - having to pay to have a kettle in the room. :(

Would book this hotel again

Great hotel with superb pools and good food. Isolated enough to have quiet if you want it but only just over 1km walk away from the main shops and restaurants. Also several restaurants and supermarkets just outside the hotel by the beach so not as isolated as other reviews made out. Not sure if all-inclusive is worth the money, the food in the hotel was varied and of very good quality but for the price I'd rather have my choice of some excellent restaurants on aforementioned beach strip 5 mins away which seemed to be frequented by Canarians which is always a good sign. On our last day we had a late flight so the hotel made a courtesy room available to us for showering and changing after another full day's use of the pool and hotel facilities, which made a massive difference, on other package holidays to the island I've always lost the whole last day because of early checkouts. The best thing about this hotel is the Gaudi-inspired architecture and garden landscaping which are extremely beautiful, with the saltwater infinity pool a close second. I would definitely book this hotel again if the price was right. It deserves its 5 star accommodation rating.

Nice hotel not so nice beach

The room was nice and spacious. It had a two-twin-matresses-put-together king-size bed (not very comfortable) and a twin-size pull-out couch. We requested the extra bed on the couch for our toddler but they never came to make it. By the time we got to bed it we were to tired to deal with it. The pools were great and there was a good size separate kiddie pool. There was a bar/restaurant overlooking one of the pools with decent food. The service/staff did not seem up to par for a luxury hotel. They were friendly enough but they had overly-restrictive rules. For example, they keep track of the pool towels as if they were gold. You are assigned two per room and getting extras or exchanging (literally) your own for fresh ones required going to an area of the pool between certain times and only at those times. Once thing I would recommend the managmenet: pool-side service. If you wanted a beer or a cocktail, you had to go to the bar on the other side of the pool to get it. It just makes business sense to have a couple of waiters walking around taking orders. Much more convenient service and I'm sure it would pay for itself. There is a nice-looking shopping center across the street on the beach. A lot of potential but it's half empty. The reason is likely that the beach there is not very nice, there is some sand to lay on but the water is all rocks. I think I'll stay at the Lopesan a few blocks down next time. We went there for the spa and it looked really nice.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Nice Italian restaurant in the shopping center right at beach level. Much better than than most of the bad touristy food around there.
