One Of The Best Ever!
The hotel has a magnificent location opposite the Guggenheim Museum and Bilbao's sculptural and fragrant "Puppy". My 10 year-old grandson and I arrived fairly late at night and after checking in to our beautiful room, crossed the street to walk around the museum and observe the play of light along the river against the titanium sheathed curves of the Guggenheim. It was pure magic. The hotel's buffet breakfast is abundant with many delicious offerings and the setting allows you to observe the Guggenheim in the changing moods of early morning light. The staff are gracious and welcoming and the whole experience was just truly wonderful in every way. Be sure to walk up the curving staircase to the top floors and look down for a marvelous visual and photographic sculptural treat. A few minutes walk away is Santiago Calatrava's airy pedestrian bridge. The hotel is excellently located to walk to restaurants, shopping and the old section of Bilbao, the Casco Viejo. The Silken Gran Domine is a treat, a delight and a wonderful guest experience.

Pay a visit on a Friday/Saturday evening to the old town east of the river and you will find tens of packed bars with some really good pintxos (pronounced pinchos)!
