[...]Hotel is not near the city center, but does provide free shuttle several times a day; just be careful that during high ... season or cruise line embarking days, the shuttle may get full and people will get left behind. Some times the hotel will arrange an extra shuttle, but not always. Even then, the train station is near and the metro is very economical and easy to go into the city and getting around it. Close to the airport (10 min) and again with free shuttles, very convenient for early or late flight. Room is amazingly clean and good size. One down side, to watch TV is an extra charge.

The hotel offers a shuttle to downtown for shopping and sightseeing. There are only a couple of pickup and dropoff time but it will save you about 30 Euros for a one way taxi ride into downtown Barcelona.

Staff were very helpful and all spoke English. This is a great hotel if you only have a few days to see Barcelona and need to ... fly out early in the morning. (Most of our trip was on the Costa Brava and only scheduled 2 nights for Barcelona.) They have several shuttles to the city center- takes less than 20 minutes. Beds were very comfy, bathrooms large and clean. Rates seemed good compared to staying in city center.

The good, the bad , and the really ugly
Traveler Sep 30, 2009
The hotel was our last stay in Barcelona for my sisters and I. The personal front desk was professional and friendly. The bad ... side was the additional roll-up bed that they gave us because we were three adults in the room. The bed was child size and the matress was horrible but they change the matress. On the other hand they run off the comforters covers for the third bed and gave us old blankets.

Leaving Barcelona
Louise Jan 3, 2008
The Renaissance Hotel was perfect for our last night in Europe because our priority was to get up early the next day and get ... to the airport. Everyone knows what a airport hotel can be like, and it's a painful reminder that the vacation is over. My experience here was relatively positive. Although this hotel was big and new, it was friendly. We were literally 8 minutes from the airport. A free shuttle was provided to the airport. Our evening drinks at the bar were hostessed by a wonderful, friendly woman who mirrored the hospitality we had experience throughout our time in Barcelona, and other parts of Spain. Although the hotel is part of a world wide chain, I felt the service had the warmth of the people I had met in smaller more intimate hotels. The bar area was so pleasant that we took are dinner there, instead of moving to the hotel's dining room. We all had a lovely meal.

The hotel was decorated in a modern style. Very clean. Chairs in lobby very uncomfortable. Chairs at sky lounge very very ... uncomfortable. Food ok. Did not have a wide selection of choices. Shuttle to downtown Barcelona operated one time in the morning and one time in the afternoon about 5:00. Need more shuttles to downtown area. Good shuttle service to and from airport. Ran every 30 minutes. Problem with morning shuttle first come first serve. Need sign up for morning shuttle. When too many people were out in the morning for shuttle cause shouting and unhapply customers as some were told they had to wait for next shuttle. Need better system. One restaurant, which was good service and good food. Bar restaurant comfortable for conversation. Not much in the area. Business area. No shop in hotel for simple items, tooth paste, shampoo, snacks, post cards, etc.

Proximity to the airport and helpful staff
Charles Jul 29, 2007
Very friendly and helpful staff and a great location for the night before an early morning flight while in transit back to ... the U.S. Very comfortable and cool rooms (large and AC cool in the summer for Europe) and the restaurant had a very adequate selection of food and wine. Lobby lounge is modern and had a great, friendly, competent bar keep. Nine and a half out of ten on my scale of airport hotels.

The Renaissance Barcelona Airport Hotel had very comfortable rooms,a luxurious bathroom, but a poor, yet expensive, ... restaraunt. It has a free shuttle to the airport and to the city, which is very nice since the cab drivers charge twice as much in Barcelona as they do in the rest of Europe.
